Chapter 7: Shadows and Secrets

As the plane touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Derek's mind buzzed with anticipation.

Derek: "Finally, back in New York."

Stepping off the plane, he made his way to the parking area where his car awaited.

Derek: "Time to head home."

Driving to the family mansion, Derek was greeted by their loyal butler.

Butler: "Good morning, Mr. Derek. Welcome back to New York."

Derek: "Thank you. Are my parents here?"

Butler: "Your parents are not here, but Miss Angela has returned from Paris."

Suddenly, Angela appeared, offering her greetings to Derek.

Angela: "Welcome back, little brother."

Derek: "Where are Mom and Dad? What's going on?"

Angela: "You'll find out soon enough. Dad has some big plans for you."

Puzzled, Derek made his way to his bedroom, unpacking his bag and pondering his father's mysterious intentions.

Derek: "What does Dad want from me? What's this 'big plan' Angela mentioned?"

Remembering his promise to Kyle, Derek decided to call him.

Derek: "Hey, Kyle. I'm back in town."

Kyle: "Great! Let's meet at our favorite bar tonight."

Derek: "Sounds good. See you then."

Ending the call, Derek couldn't shake off the feeling of impending tension and uncertainty that hung in the air, signaling the beginning of a dangerous game of alliances and betrayals.
