227 Words
In the grand halls of Crawford Mansion, Derek prepared to meet Kyle at their favorite bar. Derek: "Kyle's been waiting for me." Making his way to the parking area, Derek climbed into his car and drove to the bar. After a couple of hours, he arrived, stepping out of the car and entering the dimly lit establishment. Spotting Kyle at a table, Derek joined him. Derek: "Hey, Kyle." Kyle: "Hey, Derek." Seated beside Kyle, Derek contemplated his drink options. Kyle: "Beer or whisky?" Derek: "Whisky, please." As they settled in, Kyle wasted no time delving into the reason for Derek's sudden return to New York. Kyle: "So, why the sudden return?" Derek: "Family stuff. Dad wants to talk to me about some big plan." Kyle: "Ah, the mysterious big plan. Sounds intriguing." Sipping his whisky, Derek watched as Kyle lit up a cigarette. Derek: "How's life as a doctor, Kyle? Any luck in the love department?" Kyle: laughs "Love life? Dating? Not exactly my forte." Derek: "Really? I find that hard to believe." Both men shared a hearty laugh, enjoying the camaraderie of their reunion. Kyle: "What about you, Mr. Crawford? Any romantic prospects?" Derek: "Not at the moment." Kyle: "Ah, Mr. Crawford, the elusive bachelor." Their laughter filled the air, masking the underlying tension and secrets that lurked beneath the surface of their seemingly carefree conversation.
