Chapter 3 – The Blood Servant

689 Words
The cavern fell silent. Only the faint drip of crimson dew echoed through the darkness. Lin Xuan stood frozen, breath harsh, heart pounding in rhythm with the Blood Pearl embedded in his chest. Before him, the chained girl trembled—silver eyes uncertain, pale lips parted slightly. A guardian spirit bound for a thousand years… A girl who could be freed… Or claimed. The Blood Pearl throbbed again. Warm. Seductive. Like a whisper curling around his spine. Choose… The Choice Lin Xuan stepped closer. The girl flinched, but she did not pull away. Chains glimmered around her wrists, glowing with a faint crimson light. “If I free you,” Lin Xuan said quietly, “what will happen?” Her voice trembled like a soft chime. “My soul will disperse. I will return to the pearl’s origin… and fade.” Lin Xuan’s chest tightened. “And if I bind you?” Her silver eyes lifted to his. She swallowed. Hard. “Then… I will become your Blood Servant. Your life, your qi, your commands… I will obey without resistance.” A faint blush colored her cheeks. “In all things. Flesh, soul, cultivation… I will belong to you.” The air thickened with tension. Lin Xuan’s fingers curled. A year ago, he would’ve hesitated. A week ago, he would’ve run away. But now… He had been betrayed. Left for dead. His destiny stolen. And the Blood Pearl pulsed inside him with hunger. “I choose,” Lin Xuan whispered, stepping directly before her, “to claim my fate.” He extended his hand. “I bind you.” The Blood Contract The chains reacted instantly. CRACK—CRACK—CRACK! They shattered into dust, dissolving into streams of red light that spiraled around the girl’s body. Her eyes widened as the lights sank into her skin, leaving delicate crimson markings circling her wrists like bracelets. The cavern trembled. A blood-red lotus bloomed beneath her feet. The girl gasped— Then fell forward. Lin Xuan caught her in his arms. Her body was warm, trembling, breathtakingly soft. She pressed a hand lightly against his chest—directly where the Blood Pearl lay. “I… I am yours now,” she whispered, voice like silk soaked in moonlight. “Master.” A thrill ran through his veins. “What is your name?” Lin Xuan asked softly. She hesitated, then whispered: “Yueyin.” The First Power Awakens The moment he spoke her name, Yueyin’s body glowed— Soft silver light mixed with blood-red energy. Her forehead pressed gently against his as she murmured: “As your Blood Servant, my essence awakens your first power…” Lin Xuan’s vision blurred. His blood surged. His heart roared. The Blood Pearl ignited. Suddenly— BOOM! A blast of crimson qi erupted from his back, forming ghostly wings made of pure blood essence. The cavern floor cracked beneath his feet. Lin Xuan staggered. “This… what is happening?!” Yueyin clung to him, steadying his body with her soft, cool hands. “This is your first ability… granted by the Blood Pearl,” she breathed. “Bloodburst Wings.** A forbidden movement technique lost for centuries.” Lin Xuan looked at the wings behind him—ethereal, deadly, radiating power strong enough to pierce stone. His heart pounded with wild exhilaration. He had power again. No—he had something greater. Something that could change his fate. Something that could crush those who had betrayed him. Yueyin’s quiet voice pulled him back. “Master… the power inside you is only beginning to awaken.” She looked up at him shyly. “If you allow me… I can help you unlock the next stage.” Lin Xuan’s breath caught. “What do you mean?” Her cheeks turned a deep shade of red. “As a Blood Servant… I must share my essence with you.” A soft whisper. “Through… intimate resonance.” The Blood Pearl pulsed. Warm. Hungry. Eager. Lin Xuan swallowed hard. And Yueyin waited—eyes shimmering, lips parted, trembling in his arms— for the choice only he could make.
