We slowly make our way to the hospital, it feels like its taking forever but I know it's not diablos fault this time it's mine and my instincts are making me more agitated by the moment, I just hope we can make it in the building without to many issues and I can help Diablo as fast as I can and get him out in one piece. We finally make it to the hospital and it looks like a m******e from hell to say the least, there's broken glass everywhere and blood smears all over the windows that have magically managed to stay in tact and I can smell weeks old blood coming from within the hospital, I try not to gag on the smell but its overwhelming how horrid the stench is of decay, old blood and rot, I have to turn my head so I can try to manage to get a whiff of fresher air but it seems to be following me. Diablo looks at me with a sympathetic yet curious look and I manage to choke out "the stench in there is horrible" the only response I get in return from him is a faint nod of his head, I try to formulate a plan in my head on how to do this without getting Diablo killed in the process but this is a hard one, we obviously can't just strut right through the main entrance since that's where I am assuming all the zombies have congregated too since the apocalypse started then it hits me, there should be a emergency exit somewhere towards the back of the building where there's a staircase that leads to the basement floor of the hospital, I try to rack my brain knowing I used to know the layout of the hospital since this is the same hospital where my mother passed away and I spent most of my time here and explored it a little. But if I'm correct this will be the least dangerous route to go since that is also where they kept all the extra medical supplies as well, I heft Diablo up a little more since I didn't notice he started to slouch while I was deep in thought, I let him know the plan and he faintly nods his head to acknowledge the plan. I help Diablo walk down the alley way between the building next to the hospital and the hospital trying to find the silver door marked emergency, it takes me a few minutes but I spot it and thankfully with luck on my side it seems to be have left open ajar with a cement block being used as a wedge to keep it from closing all the way, thank God because if this plan had failed I don't know what I would have done but there would have been only one choice and that's trying to go through the main doors which could have gone horribly wrong for Diablo and me. I adjust my hold on Diablo and nudge the cement brick with my foot and hurriedly grab onto the door handle so it doesn't close on us, I cringe at the creaking moaning sound of the door which seems to be way to loud to my sensitive ears and hold my breath trying to make sure nothing else heard it but I don't hear anything out of the ordinary so far besides some very hungry zombies in the building next to us growling and screeching, I hold the door open as best as I can and I try to get Diablo inside as fast I can, once we are inside I close the door tight behind us and we are suddenly enveloped in pure darkness but thanks to my new vision I can see everything perfectly clear just with a red tint to it. I take in my surroundings and I can see the staircase leading up to the upstairs, another door leading to the main part of the hospital and just slightly to my left is the staircase leading downstairs to where our Destination is, thankfully everything seems to be quite besides the noise of all the zombies trapped in the main part of the hospital but I don't hear anything downstairs so far but that doesn't mean anything either. I'm starting to learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to this apocalypse, I make sure my handle on Diablo is firm and we slowly make our way downstairs with me quietly guiding Diablo as I know he can't see as well as me in the dark, it takes us fifteen minutes to get down the two flights of stairs but once we make it down, I put Diablo on the stairs with him leaning against the wall and I bend down so I am eye level with him, I know he can't see me that well but its more of human habit that brings some comfort knowing I did retain some human traits after the change even if it isn't many. I look at Diablo and I hear him mumble about how my eyes are freaky and I remembered that I put the welding glasses around my neck, I slip them up around my face adjusting them so they fit better " is that better" Diablo looks at me and nods his head saying " better but now I won't know when you approach me" I try not to laugh at him and his stupidity. I just shake my head and let him know to stay put and I will go searching around making sure its safe down here, but this time I don't get a response which doesn't seem to bother me even knowing what kind of condition he is in, but I keep my one ear on the sound of his heart to make sure he's still alive and go in search of medical supplies and blood. Once all rooms down here have been checked and I made sure everything was secure, I make my way back to Diablo to let him known of my findings except for the blood, since he doesn't need to know about that i can still hear his heart which is a good sign. In my search I found what looks like it used to be an old office turned into a makeshift hospital room and I found a room with a bunch of food with expiration dates of at least two years which was amazing to have found that, I also found the storage room where they had kept all the blood which thankfully was still full. But the problem is going to be is there's no power anymore but I did find a stove that ran on gas tanks and battery powered lanterns which everything is all set up in the makeshift hospital room, the only problem is we won't be able to live down here we will eventually run out of gas, water, food, batteries but I'm hoping we have enough for at least as long as it's going to take Diablo to heal, then we can come up with a plan and try to figure out where other possible survivors could be hold up. I know I am asking for a miracle here but there's gotta be survivors, right? I guess only time will tell exactly where our journey is going to lead us and what we will find on this journey.
