Venus looked like she was physically slapped.  There it was, the envy, the bitterness,... and all Kalliope did under Venus’ flaring gaze was to meet her eyes placidly. Something sadistic curled in her heart, a want to push Venus further, to break this facade she was wearing, the barely there restraint in the hopes of getting what she wanted. Alas, Kalliope was not her husband.
