Lira woke up with a shiver. She felt her body ache and throb. It was as if someone had dragged a flame bearing torch through her body or dipped her into not oil. She was not really dramatic but her examples made her want to ahke her head and ask herself to be her normal sane self. If she was just a bird, singing a song, flying the skies, living a smaller life, may be life would not be as complicated. She felt a rush of warm emotions as if this was a wish she had many lifetimes before. She did not believe in rebirths, she did not believe in rebirths. She told herself again and again. May be you should by now.. She heard the voice in her mind and something in her turned warm. Can someone fall in love with a voice. Atleast there was no harm in day dreaming. No prince in shinning armour was there for her yet she could just imagine the warmth of love that made one believe in riding to sunset and white horses , pink clouds.
Ceasar was smiling at her, liking her voice, praising her with his eyes. The neighbourhood however seemed like dusk in a desert, the coloured skies and the frantic beat of the pulse, no one should catch them here. Lira shook her head to change the setting to the modern day lounge bar. Will Ceasar understand that she was imagining all sweet nothing's about him. Is this was was called infatuation..
Not infatuation but love. Twin souls, twin flames, once a single being you both were seperated .. only to reunite. The more your unification is delayed , the more you feel dizzy and in the dream world. Your dream world is giving you what you should have in the real world. Lira nodded her head. Today she would listen to everything. She did not usually allow herself day dreams or even night drema. But just for the day she wanted to dream. Tomorrow she would come back with a thud and continue with her life. She will see Ceasar ignore her with somentaoed contents to practice and spooky houses with no inhabitants. May be someday she will meet him again or not but she did not want to think of that day or time. Today she was sleeping and sailing the clouds with the love of her life. She would even believe that there were norms and walls that seperated them and that was why Ceasar did not like her even as a student. She would not think that in Ceasar's glintzy would of glamour and power there would be never anyone called Lira. Now she would just float in hand in hand.. with Ceasar. The scenes in her mind were ever drifting . Ceasar with a sword, Ceasar with wild flowers, Ceasar bent over her face shielding her from the sun, Ceasar speaking of magical waters that he would get for her so that no one ever harmed her, Ceasar committing to cutting off the source of the water as it was causing in fights in his tribe. Do you love me Ceasar..
At the back of the car Ceasar was grateful for the glass partition that seperated the front and the back seats. While it was only Lira's mother with Nico on the wheels, he would have been unhappy for them to hear her fevered mutterings. Where was the justice in this world, where they gave him all the memories and her none at all. the little she creamed was be ause they were connected and when he thought of her or rather the woman he knew centuries ago, she got reverted to some submerged memories other own.
From the front of the car, Lira's mother gave a worried look back and said, " This drive is taking too long. why could we not go to the closest hospital first for the emergency check up. I think it would be better if we just tur ed the car around. There is nothing wrong with her .. she is smiling and giggling.. What is she saying?"
Both Nico and Ceasar had pressed upon Lira's mother to take her home, Ceasar's home to which she had said a clear no. So Ceasar had then requested for shifting to a private hospital, where he knew the owner enough to arra ge for spucifc care for the beautiful Lira. The state that she is in, her constant drifting of consciousness and inability to understand the current and the old, or reality and dreams was not good for her. Personally Ceasar wanted her to remember everything but was worried that she will remember the pain and t*****e. Secretly though he had been furious with her inability to remember everything till today when he saw her pain and now felt her reluctance to wake up.
But she had to wake up, so he peered down on her face and said, "Lira we are in a car.Wake up please."
Her mother shifted in her seat, uncomfortable with the fact that Ceasar held her daughter while she sat infront. Her all being seemed to scream, " My daughter.." But she kept quiet, just by a thin tread. Nico very prudently concentrated to managing the traffic at the fastest pace.
The traffic seemed to be in loops today as the loops of time thought Nico. The road he could drive in thirty minutes seemed to take much longer though the clock barely moved. "How are you allowing them to reunite. Don't you know the sacred spring could never be tamed. It flows underneath.. underneath this city too. Push them off the ceiling of the bridge .. die a hero's death. You know death can be defeated. You would have sent them off to their destiny of living or dying together and saved the world of the catascope of having the sacred waters discovered."
Yet Nico drove. He drove because Lira's mother sat beside him staring ahead at the road and glancing from time to time at the seats behind to see if her daughter has woken up. Her being delirious and speaking of days and times of past did not seem to bother her as much as the fact that she was still not awake. As he thought , Ceasar looked up and stared at both of them. To the mother he reassured with a smile and said. Now she is finally just asleep and not delirious. To Nico he said, " Let her mother sit beside the daughter. A loving mother's touch can do wonders. Just as a long supressed hatred can make every passing minute a punishment. I will drive, I will drop you in the next crossing and you will get a bus home. I think we will manage the hospital. See you.. later."
And he did get down and get on a bus. As the bus drive silently through the dark lanes and by lanes of a desert land, his stoppage came and went, and the bus reached its terminus.. it's last stop. The driver did not notice him sitting in the last sit, mingled with the darkness , fighting darkness. Most days the link ght won but today the dark was raising its head.. a journey into the dungeon and the innumerable possibility and punishment and people begging for mercy and the thrill of power. No.. !! He was not that. No. He was not that. Finally after two hours of sitting in a dark bus he managed to open the door from the inside and step out for a long walk to the place he called home now. The light has won again.
