Emily pov

I left work with different thoughts going through my mind, Lexi will be going to high school soon and I need to pay his fees and also prepare for his college tuition, although Stacey is still small I have to start preparing for her as well now that my mother is no where near good to work at lest I am happy I got her back, but the my problem is who will higher a high school dropout i didn’t even finish high school it’s was so frustrating my Kobe back at the restaurant isn’t paying much at lest we can feed and pay some bills but I need something more i sighed for like a hundredth time since I left work. I look up and noticed I was close to home I didn’t want them to see me like this so I quickly put on a bright smile and walked into the pizza place close to us, I bought two boxes of cheesy pizza and some soda just the way they like it .

I got upstairs into our apartment and gently knocked on the door because I was carrying the food I couldn’t reach into my bag to get my key, the door opened and my little peanut grabbed onto my legs I laughed still struggling to get inside then I heard my brother speak

Lexi: Let her go Stacey you will make her trip

But Stacey still refused to let go I managed to get into the kitchen dropped the pizza boxes and gently carried her into my arms then I started tickling her she was trashing and laughing at the same time it was wholesome to behold even Lexi joined in the fun we kept tickling and laughing at each other until mom walked in with a huge smile on her face

Mom: oh can guys let her rest she just got here ( still laughing)

Emily: ( the laughter finally dying down) hi mom

Mom: hi baby , how was your day?

Emily: ( I stood up from the couch and walk towards the kitchen where she was, giving her kiss on the cheek) it was ok you know the usual, my boss was a total asshole today other than that I got a huge tip so I decided to buy some pizza so we can enjoy tonight

Mom: I can see that darling ( she laughed gosh I missed her laugh I am happy she is finally getting herself back) about your boss you have to be careful of her okay I don’t you getting into trouble with her

I nodded while I carried the pizza out of the kitchen to the sitting room while she carried the soda and some chips , Lexi and Stacey were happy seeing what was for dinner i smiled just looking at their excitement we ditched the dining table and settled on the floor in the sitting room . Mom opened the boxes and we started to eat then I heard a knock on the door i went to open only to see May standing outside with some takeout I hugged her and led her inside, she was welcomed with Stacey hugging her legs with a mouthful of pizza she hugged my mom and joined our little feast i went into into the kitchen to get another plate for her . Deep down I knew something was wrong with my best friend and I was determined to find out
