Sydney I let the phone ring a few more times before spinning around and practically sprinting up the stairs. And the second I got into my room, I slammed the door shut and leaned against it. Then I accepted the call just before it ended. “Girlll—” Maeve said immediately, her face filling the screen, half of it covered in some white substance. Her hair was tied up, held by a hairband. Not nearly as messy as mine. I blinked. “What?” She looked up from the tube in her hand. “We’ll have to—” she suddenly paused, and before I could grasp what was going on, she moved closer to the screen. “What happened to you?” I frowned, “What are you talking about?” “Your face.” She pointed dramatically. “It’s red all over.” My hand immediately flew to my cheek.
