“Where are you?”- We were having a video call while I was driving on my way to a milk tea shop
“Finding some goodies for the kids”- I simply replied to her
“And you’re driving while calling me?”- By the tone of her voice she was quit annoyed by what she was finding out
“Before you say anything I am on a drive thru so I guess it’s quite fine for me to call and talk to you”- I said to her half smirking, a little concern and sympathy from her give so much impact in my life
“Whatever you say, anyway, you are taking this time for spoiling my kids, I told you that they should learn to earn something before getting anything”- Here she goes again with her words of wisdom
“And it’s not too much to give them something sometimes, besides when you are away all they did was emailing you, and studying”- I said to her because that’s true, sometimes I will offer them to go to the mall to buy they want but they don’t want to
“Wow? That’s new. When I was there all they did every time it’s weekends they always ask me on something to do and I don’t have a choice to comply in their request”- She said to me shaking her head in disbelief
“Now who’s spoiling who?”- I said to her laughing of what she was accusing me
“I don’t care, besides they earn it”- She simply smiled saying it
“I miss you”- I said to her almost a whisper looking outside waiting for my order
“What?”- She ask me that, as if she didn’t really heard me
“I said I miss you, that is what the kids want me to say in behalf of them”- I lied of course, missing her was really on me “Anyway, what is your plan on your special day?”- I ask her that, I mean of course to know how we can surprise her
“I really don’t know because I am not busy with the hospital because I already done everything, maybe I might stay in the office to kill some time of paint? I mean, I really miss the twins.”- She simply said, like she always does
“Don’t you think planning on that day is important? I mean, it is your birthday”- I said
“Is just a day, nothing is much special”- I glare as I’ve heard what she said to me
“I need to go, my orders are here already and the kids are waiting for me. Take care of yourself out there, be safe. I’ll send you a message if something was up”- I said to her smiling and receiving the drinks from the crew and paid it.
“Take care as well and kiss the kids for me, tell them I miss them so much and I love them both very much”- She said and ended the call
After paying everything I went back to the house and finding out that kids are already preparing their clothes. They are both excited for this trip, I mean I can’t blame them, it’s been months when they last saw their mother.
“Here”- I give them each of the drinks and cookies that I bought from their favorite's bakeshop
“Thank you Pa”- Avel said with so much happiness but Yui simply smiled at me
“Thank you Pa”- She said after a sip
I took from my folder the things I did for today.
“Here are your passport, VISA and plane ticket that I prepared. I want you both to know how to take care of those things even though you are still young so that you know your responsibilities”- I said to them and give them each of the things I said
“You prepare these things Papa?”- Yui ask me with amusement in her face
“Yes, just like what you wanted”- I simply said to her and smiled
“I’m excited to see Moms reaction”- Avel said and give me some of her cookie
“I am quite excited as well”- I said to him in reply
“We can see that Papa”- Yui said like she was trying to tease me
“Are you pairing me up with your Mom?”- I ask her that with one of my eyebrows are up
“Oww come on, we’re 7 not stupid”- Yui said that almost makes me choke from the cookie
“Language sis”- Avel said to her but she just glare at me
“You already knew what I felt for your mother, but you see. Your mother doesn’t see me more than just someone she could trust, a friend”- I simply said to them explaining my side of the story
“Does she know?”- Yui ask me and seated on the couch started concentrating on her food and interrogating me
“I……”
“She doesn’t know because you never told her. Then you are acting already busted but not even started anything”- Avel talked so much and to be honest I don’t know if I should be happy with that
“Well, truth hurts but not trying and assuming the outcome is like getting hit by a bullet from nowhere”- Yui said to me, this kids really know how to get hard for me to deal with them
“If I were you, you should start on thinking of ways how to get our Mom before it’s too late”- Avel said to me and I saw how Yui just keep on nodding for what she heard from her brother
“You two should start preparing your things”- I simply said to them because apparently I don’t know how to react for everything they said to me
“We are already done preparing and packing everything that we need we will just check it every single day before our flight”- Yui sarcastically said
I put my both hands up as if I were surrendering of everything they said to me today. I took my stuff and I ready to go to my room, change my clothes and I will cook their dinner, those kids have huge appetite as well as huge mouth.
“Think of what we said Papa before it’s too late for you”- Yui said to me before turning on the TV
