The Ashborne Town Doctor arrived very quickly when he had heard that Lord Ashborne had fallen from his horse and was unconscious after spending a while laying in the cold. Lady Ashborne, apparently, was inconsolable and would not leave his side. They had placed him on a couch in the tearoom, and Lady Ashborne was refusing to be out of the room; she was hysterical, and Doctor Haggard had brought a sedative for his ladyship, as well. As he entered the house, he heard Lady Ashborne calling out for warm, not hot, water, to soak his lordship’s feet and help with his temperature; Doctor Haggard was impressed, he knew Lady Ashborne was studious, but did not realize she had done any medical studies.
