“So, why did you call?” I asked.
“To tell you that I’m not returning today,” Aiden answered and I gasped. Here I was waiting for him to come back but now this was what I heard.
“You… are not coming today?” I questioned him again. The entire resolve that I had built that I would confess to him was breaking.
“Did I speak in French that you wouldn’t understand, Emerald?” Aiden retorted, angrily. I wanted to yell at him but I needed answers.
“When will you be back? Why are you not coming?” I asked and just waited.
“The weather’s not good so probably Saturday or Sunday. Just until the weather clears out.” He answered and I let out a shaky breath.
