Word of the day - 닥쳐 (Romanised as ‘Dak-chyeo’) – Shut up. ##### AIDEN’S POV ----- I had identified my Emerald Eyes, the first moment she had trudged into the bar. I couldn’t believe my luck but I was certain she was the one. I kept stealing glances at her but she was unaware of my presence. Soon, the woman who was accompanying her got up, succeeding towards our table. I grabbed that as an opportunity to escape from our table so I could see how to address her. I didn’t expect her to come and sit next to me, initiating a conversation. I had Aria to thank for calling me at such a time. “꿈.” That’s what I first heard her say and if only she knew that’s what she meant to me. We were talking a moment ago and suddenly we were kissing like crazy. There was no way I would let her go when she herself had come to me. That all led to us spending the night together that I would never forget and I knew she wouldn’t either. ----- My eyes opened and I felt empty for some reason. I sat up and pulled my hair, shaking my head a little because of the blast inside. This was not how I normally woke up. I looked around to discover one more person but there wasn’t any. I realised that she was gone. I couldn’t believe she appeared and disappeared just like that. Just like a dream. The Emerald eyes I was dreaming about the whole of the past year was right in front of my eyes. The coincidence was that her name was even ‘Emerald’. I had kept wondering her name without even realising that I already knew her name. I still couldn’t believe that we did spend a night so wild and so memorable. I was disappointed to not see her face. I didn’t know how to find her again, now that she was gone. Or more like, I didn’t want to find her using my connections. Surely, I was enticed by her but I didn’t want to make her that important, so I didn't put my efforts into searching for her. Either way, I wanted to know if we were fated to meet again. I dressed in my pants and picked up the shirt. I realised it wasn't as blank as a white shirt should be. “Told you, I don’t do things I regret. Only yours, Emerald.” I read loudly the words that were written on the shirt. I couldn’t believe that she had written those words on my shirt. She sure was the arrogant kind, just like me. I chuckled. I picked up my phone which lay on the bed. I saw there was a missed call from Miles. It was only fifteen minutes earlier. I called him and he answered my call on the first attempt. “Where are you, Aiden?” That was the first thing he asked and I sighed. “I’ll send you my location. Just bring me a set of new clothes, right now.” I illustrated and hung up the call. I glanced at the shirt in my hand and smiled. “I’ll find you when the time is right,” I vowed. ----- “Wow, that was something else,” Miles commented and I nodded. I knew he was right because I usually left in the night itself. I didn’t like to sleep next to a stranger but I felt perfectly okay with Emerald. “I know. Staying over is not my style.” I muttered and he nodded. “And I should’ve seen that woman! I can’t believe the Goddess who has come down for you.” Miles muttered, completely shocked. “Surely, she was one,” I responded and he let out wolf whistles. “I wish I could see her.” He huffed and I glared at him. “Forget about me. I heard the player was also being accompanied by someone.” I commented and he scratched his head. “Yes, a sexy beast. She was the one who pranked us last night. Seems like fate has brought us together.” Miles informed me with a blush evident on his cheeks. “You talking about fate is new,” I commented and he nodded. “Well, it seems like we both had great nights.” He wrapped up our conversation and I hummed. “So, when are you going to meet your Goddess again?” He asked and I shook my head in denial. He gave me a questioning look. “I don’t know. I don’t have her details.” I told him and his eyes widened. “You’ve got it bad. At least, I know how to find my beast.” He smirked at me and I glared at him. “And you think that will help you win her over?” I questioned, making him shut his trap. “Let’s go now,” I ordered him and we both left the room. We went downstairs to the receptionist and fixed the billing before getting outside the hotel. I glanced at the bar and the hotel once again before sitting in the car. “Go,” Miles said and soon the car was moving. “Oh, Alvin told me that he sent you important documents,” Miles informed me and I nodded, unlocking my phone to check the mail. Miles, too, checked his mails. I answered a few emails and read a few. I was supposed to send Alvin a response document picture that was in my Photos. I opened my Photos to find the picture but I found something else completely. Three pictures didn’t seem like I had clicked because I was sleeping in those pictures. I opened them and a smile erupted from my lips. Emerald, though arrogant, was childish and loved doing whatever she wanted. I had the pictures but her face was not visible. I knew it was her because I had seen her face but a person wouldn’t quickly make it out. I was glad to have a souvenir of her. This made me more intrigued and attracted to her. I wanted to know her for some odd reason. One of the main reasons would be how she was very confident, arrogant and not to forget the situation when I first saw her. She was interesting. “Are you… smiling?” Miles implored, pulling me out of my reverie. I set my face back to its normal calm face before turning towards Miles. “Does that bother you?” I asked and he smirked. “No, but it surely does bother you.” He retorted and I narrowed my eyes at him because it was true. “If you don’t stop now, I believe two deals will be bothering you,” I warned him and he hissed. “Now I know why you shouldn’t do business with your best friend,” He grumbled and turned away. I glanced at the picture and settled back, looking outside the window. Now, I want to find you. So, come across me one more time. ~~~~~ EMERALD’S POV ----- When I arrived at the mansion, I parked the car and immediately went upstairs. I checked the hall for any sign but when I didn’t find anyone, I sighed. I immediately rushed upstairs and shut the door behind me. The first thing I did was to put my phone on charge. Once done, I removed the jacket and softly touched it, remembering Aiden. But I didn’t wait for long before putting it in the very back of my closet. I didn’t want to wash off his scent. I went to take a quick shower and then came to the sink to brush my teeth. I was brushing my teeth when I glanced at myself in the mirror and just gasped. My neck was covered in hickeys, bright and hard to miss. I groaned but was glad to notice them before anyone else did. I finished my bath and soon went to my closet. I picked out a turtle neck white top with full sleeves and paired it up with black high-waisted ripped shorts. I finally took a breath of relief and sat on my bed. Grammy jumped on the bed and snuggled into me. “Oh, my dear Grammy.” I cooed as I pet him. He kept rubbing onto me and I chuckled. “You missed me? I know I was out all night.” I said and he meowed. He was quite indifferent from when he was hungry or in dire need of attention. He meowed again loudly. “Oh, my little one is hungry? Why don’t we both go down and have some food?” I cooed and picked him up while walking down, petting him in my arms. When I went down, I saw the dining table was occupied, with just one person. My father. I walked and sat on my chair. “Dad!” I greeted and he gave me an odd look. Dad’s brown hair was set back while his face shined and his blue eyes were still eyeing me. “It’s summer, honey. Why are you wearing this?” He asked and I almost choked on my saliva. I tried to avoid answering the question by playing with Grammy but he turned out to be a traitor. Grammy jumped down and ran to his bowl, awaiting his food with anticipation. Eric and I made eye contact and he nodded, silently giving me a signal that he’ll feed Grammy. Traitor or not, he was my boy. “I felt a little cold, that’s why. Well, I’m hungry, let’s have food.” I urged him, trying to change the topic away from me. “Let’s do that but tell me where were you last night? Your car was missing, too.” Dad inquired and I knew I was caught. “I was out with Miranda last night and then we ended up going to her house and sleeping. I completely forgot to tell you.” I half lied. He gave me a look. “I remember seeing her here.” He asserted and I gave him a meek smile. “Daddy, please. You already know we were out partying and still you want to attempt and fool your daughter.” I said and he chuckled. If he had caught me, I had caught him, too. “Now you know not to lie to your father, huh.” He teased and I pouted. “Just be careful. My princess daughter is still young and I’m very protective of her.” He said and I nodded, going to hug him. “Come on now.” He said and I sat back at my place. Soon, Hayden joined the table, sitting next to me, looking like a mess. “Hayden, at least be presentable while you’re down. Even Emmie was out yesterday but look at her.” Dad scolded Hayden and I chuckled. “Why did you wear that top? I feel hot looking at you.” He commented and I glared at him. “닥쳐!” I gritted my teeth at him. “She surely is cursing me again,” Hayden said, glaring at me while I glared back at him. “Worry about your lack of brains, Hayden.” I reminded him and he groaned, almost dozing off. Kayla and my stepmother; Karen, came down, too. Kayla didn’t seem like she was out partying last night, either. They both sat on the opposite side. Dad who was on the head chair glanced at them with a small smile. “Dad, yesterday I met Alvin. His brother is now back here for good.” Kayla informed Dad, almost jumping in her seat. Dad looked pleased hearing those words. “That’s good news. I’ll talk to Antoine about the engagement and wedding ceremony, then.” Dad announced and Kayla was over the moon. “We all should visit them,” Karen suggested and I cleared my throat. “I don’t want to go. You know how busy I am applying for jobs.” I announced and she smiled at me. “It’s okay, Em. You can see them when we have the ceremonies.” She illustrated and I nodded. I could skip all the meetings as I had done all the time but Dad wouldn’t let me miss the big events. “Let him settle first. We’ll go and meet him next week.” Dad announced and Karen agreed. Kayla was two years older than me so Dad didn’t object when she brought home her boyfriend of three years saying she had agreed to marry him. Dad had him thoroughly investigated before completely agreeing. I, on the other hand, never had a keen interest to know whom she was dating or marrying to whatever. I only recently knew it was a guy and who was named Alvin. I was happy being busy and studying my building-making major. I wanted to ace my class so I didn’t bother with these trivial matters. Neither was I interested in doing so. “Whatever you say goes, Dad. But can you hurry it up? I want to marry and stay with him forever soon.” Kayla squealed and I looked away as Dad chuckled. “I had talked to him earlier and surely Alvin’s plans are the same. Antoine was just waiting for his elder grandson to come here. Now that’s done so I don’t think there is anything else.” Dad expressed and Kayla nodded. “I’m excited.” Kayla was almost gleaming with happiness and excitement. I felt a little jealous looking at my calm posture. She was always too expressive and her face gave away everything about her, unlike me. "We all can see that," I commented and everyone chuckled. “What? Where’s the food?” Hayden suddenly muttered and I laughed. He was a cartoon at home but then he’d go out there and trick people’s minds, manipulating them. I was sure he manipulated a hottie like Lincoln, too. “Hayden!” Dad scolded again and he woke up. “Yes?” Hayden asked innocently while picking up the glass to drink some water. “When are you getting married? You’re crossing twenty-seven in a few months.” Dad reminded him and he choked on it. He patted his chest, trying to settle himself. “I told you, Lincoln and I have decided to marry when I get twenty-eight.” He answered. “That’s still just a few months away.” Dad reminded him and Hayden groaned.
