Word for the day - 귀여워 (Romanised as ‘kwi-yeo-wo’) – Cute ##### AIDEN’S POV ----- I didn’t know coming shopping with Alvin against my wishes would make me find Emerald. Though the encounter was just as enticing as I expected, I was pissed off to see her with another guy. Given that he wasn’t as handsome as me and it looked like he wasn’t as capable as me either but he had Emerald holding his arm. With the fierce look in her eyes, she dared to introduce me to that guy. It was as if she was testing me so I had to maintain a very calm face. She had left her heels with me and I couldn’t understand what she was. She always did things I wouldn’t understand or even think about doing. I put them in the bag and held them up. I was still a little surprised about how she had left me used heels to me like that naming it a souvenir. I shook my head but went to the washroom that I actually was searching for while roaming around. Soon, I walked towards the food court where Alvin had told me he would be. Kayla; Alvin’s fiancée had called him saying her sister was troubling her and what else but that call was the reason we ended up here on my weekend. For the past two weeks, I’ve been trying to set myself according to New York. I missed London but I had no choice but to stay here, against my wishes. If only it wasn’t Grandpa’s wish, I wouldn’t have been back here in the first place. “Aiden, what took you so long?” Alvin asked and I smiled, looking down at the bag in my hands. “A souvenir,” I answered and he gave me a strange look. It was what I was expecting so I wasn't shocked. “You just missed meeting Kayla’s younger sister. You would’ve loved meeting her.” Alvin informed me and I gave him a confused face. “Why?” I asked. “You both are top-notch narcissists and I wanted to see an interaction of two narcissists on their first meeting.” He professed and I gave him a blank look. “If you think we’d be at each other’s throats, I can see just how little your non-classy brain could think.” I taunted him and he scoffed. “Aiden, not in front of my fiancée at least.” He whined and Kayla laughed at his pouty face. I could only snort but I had no idea how Kayla found it funny. That's surely love. “It’s okay. Remember how we used to rant about having arrogant siblings before we ended up bonding together? Since they are the reason for us coming here, let’s not blame them.” Kayla muttered and I couldn’t believe that’s how they had gotten close. “You both are too under the ‘sibling’ rule.” I taunted but they both just sighed, as if they knew it and had given it up a long time ago. I was about to say something but my phone rang. “Yes,” I answered Samantha on the other side. I knew if she had called, there was something important. “Our client Mister Jackson is here and is wanting to meet you tonight regarding a business proposal.” She informed me and I glanced at my watch. “Book a table at 8.00 p.m.” I instructed her and hung up the call. “I believe I have to leave. I’ll leave Pat behind.” I told him before smiling at them and turning away to leave. ----- I was back at the mansion after finishing my conversation with Mister Jackson. He wanted to expand in New York and since he trusted me, he came over to gain my aid. I finished freshening up and laid down on the bed. I suddenly sat up as I remembered a pair of heels that were given to me as a souvenir. I stood up and brought the bag, settling back on the bed. I removed the heels from the bag and looked at them. Emerald’s face flashed with her cocky arrogance covering over her face. Emerald’s challenging eyes, so fierce and captivating, were clouding my mind. “Miles, there is someone I wanted to find,” I said as soon as Miles answered my call. “Hello. Whom do you want to find?” Miles asked and I was about to answer but I paused. “Not now,” I said and hung up the call. I opened my Pictures and watched the photos she had clicked. I wanted to see her, touch her, hear her moans. If I meet her one more time, only then I will find her. I promised myself and just shut my eyes, holding her heels in my hands. ----- A week had passed and I happened to visit the bar every night, hoping she would come and then I would discover her. But not a day that she came. “Are you obsessed with this bar? I can’t even find new women anymore.” Miles whined sitting next to me. I sipped on my Whiskey as I sighed. “I’m waiting,” I muttered and glanced at him. He had a very surprised face, listening to my words. “I can’t believe the great Aiden Kingston is waiting for someone.” He teased and I rolled my eyes at him. “Well, not to lie, but me, too. I can’t forget Miranda. I only agree to accompany you is because of her.” He professed and I gave him a questioning look. “I thought you had her contact,” I recalled his words when he teased me. He nodded in response. “But she blocked me.” He answered and I burst out laughing. I waited for him to continue but he wouldn’t. “Why?” I finally asked and he downed the remaining of his Rum. He almost broke the glass by banging it on the table. “Because I asked her to date me. She wants to keep things only physical between us.” Miles answered and I sighed at the different situation he was in. “I didn’t know there would be a day the player wanted to settle with a woman,” I commented and he huffed, calling out for one more glass of Rum. “Just like how I didn’t know you’d be waiting for a woman.” He retorted and I downed my glass of Whiskey, calling out for one more glass. “Let’s just drink and celebrate the turnover in our situations,” I muttered and we both cheered, chugging down the glass of alcohol. ----- I didn’t know how many glasses were down, but I believed we were almost drunk. I jerked my head and removed my card and handed it to the bartender. “Bill it,” I ordered and called Robert. He answered the call on the first ring. “Rob… get Pat and come… pick us,” I said and hung up the call. I was trying my level best to control myself and not fall asleep. The bartender came and asked me to press the pin. I somehow managed and pressed the pin after struggling for a long time. “AK!” I heard a voice call me and I looked up to see Robert and I relaxed. The bartender gave me the card back and I put it in my coat pocket. “Take us away… before we drink away this bar,” I muttered to Robert and he chuckled. “Pat, get MD with you. I’ll carry AK.” I heard Robert mutter. He helped me up and I stood up, taking his support. I was glad to have him support me. “What time is it?” I asked and waited for Robert to answer. I still tried to keep my eyes open just to know if I encountered Emerald. “It’s crossing 11.30 p.m. now,” Robert answered and I hummed, as my eyes finally gave away and I closed my eyes, letting Robert carry me completely. ~~~~~ EMERALD’S POV ----- “That was such a boring match. I didn’t even win a lot.” I grumbled as I drove back to the bar. Miranda laughed and I groaned. “Because Black wasn’t there. There is nothing more interesting than watching you two race.” Miranda commented and I huffed. “You miss him when he’s not in the match.” Miranda continued and I gave her a look of annoyance. “There is not a better competitor than him.” I defended and she nodded, tauntingly. “That I have to agree but you two also have a good…tacit?” She said as if she thought about a proper fitting word. I had to agree with her because the way we competed was something else, like comparable. “Or more like… equally competitive.” I retorted and she snorted. “Doesn’t matter to me anyway. What matters is I love watching you race.” She finalised and I chuckled. “No matter what, we did win. Let’s go and celebrate.” I said and she squealed. “Should we call Lincoln and Hayden?” She asked and I chucked in annoyance. “Stop fawning over them,” I warned her and she laughed. “They are just… so 귀여워!” She squealed and I huffed. “I agree but let them be. They fought in the morning.” I informed her and she squealed. “I love when they have morning fights because then Lincoln is making up to him the whole night.” She fawned over and I groaned. I parked the car in the parking lot and walked towards the entrance. “Lincoln is too crazy for him to bear all his drama,” I commented and she laughed. “Makes them the cutest.” I nodded. “Well, seeing that it’s only 11.30, I believe they’ve only started,” I commented and we both laughed. My key dropped on the floor and I bent to pick it up. “So drunk,” Miranda commented and I turned to look at the back of two guys who were being carried out by the other two. “Seems like they were in too much pain,” I commented and she put her arm around my neck, guiding me to the bar counter. “Or they must've celebrated too much.” She guessed and I hummed. We ordered our drinks and waited. “Let’s not be them today, okay? We don’t have our carriers.” I muttered and she laughed. “Maybe that was one reason why I wanted to call them.” She retorted and I laughed. “You mean bean!” I called out but we both ended up laughing. ----- “Emerald, you need to lessen visiting the bar,” Dad warned me on a Monday morning. I looked down but nodded. “I heard of your frequent night visits. You know I’m worried about you. You’ve developed such a habit at this age.” Dad scolded me and I nodded. “I’m sorry. I promise I’ll lessen it and I promise I will only visit our bar so you’ll know every time I visit.” I declared to him and he nodded. “I don’t mean to be so strict with you but I hope you understand my concern.” He explained in a softer tone. “You know whatever you tell me is the last line. I don’t care if it is right or wrong. Whatever you say goes, Dad.” I told him and he chuckled. “No need to butter me. You do it because you know it’s right, too.” He asserted and I huffed. “Look, look, someone seems to be climbing up Jack’s beanstalk to the sky.” I retorted and he chuckled. “Em, you had an interview today, right? Where is it?” Kayla asked and I cleared my throat. “I don’t wish to tell. I’ll let you know when I c***k the interview. Not before that.” I said and she looked down. “Kayla, why don’t you finish up arrangements for your engagement that’s in two weeks?” Dad suggested and Kayla nodded, smiling a little. I was supposed to be his Princess but Kayla always took a little for her, too. “Dad, can I skip the engagement?” I asked, trying my luck but he glared. I put a spoonful of pancake in my mouth, trying to avoid his eyes. “You dare,” Dad warned me and I pouted. “I won’t,” I answered and he nodded, satisfied by my response. Since Dad wouldn’t allow it, I had to attend it against my wishes. “If you don’t attend her engagement, forget about attending mine, too,” Hayden warned and I glared at him. “You dare,” I warned him and he smirked in response. “I won’t.” He promised and I nodded.
