THE ALPHA WHO REJECTED HER
The gates of Blue Moon Pack opened, and every wolf in the courtyard froze.
Tall, broad-shouldered, with dark hair that caught the sunlight, he walked with the air of someone who owned not just the pack, but the entire wolf realm.
Alpha Kael of Blood Moon Pack—feared, respected, and utterly ruthless—had arrived.
Jasmine’s heart slammed violently in her chest. Something deep inside her stirred—an instinct she had never felt before.
Her golden eyes met his.
For a brief moment, the world seemed to stop.
But then… he looked at her.
And disgust flashed across his perfect face.
The mate bond—something every werewolf longs for—reacted violently, burning inside her chest. Her pulse raced. Her wolf… or whatever was inside her, stirred, confused, yet powerful.
And yet, the Alpha didn’t approach her. He didn’t acknowledge her at all.
Instead, he turned and walked straight toward Linda, who was perched gracefully at the top of the balcony, smiling.
Alpha Victor clapped proudly. “Ah… my daughter’s future Luna,” he said, nodding toward Linda.
Jasmine’s stomach twisted. The betrayal cut deeper than she expected.
The mate-bond should have been hers, should have made her glow, should have been the start of her destiny.
Instead… she was invisible to him.
Her chest burned. Her mind spun.
She wanted to shout. To scream. To tell him he didn’t know what he was doing.
But she didn’t.
Not in front of the pack.
Linda giggled as Alpha Kael extended his hand toward her.
“Come, Luna,” he said smoothly. “Your place is beside me.”
The pack erupted in cheers.
Jasmine’s father didn’t even glance at her.
The humiliation was complete.
And Jasmine, for the first time in years, felt completely alone.
A Friend in the Shadows
That night, Jasmine didn’t sleep. She wandered to the edge of the pack territory, where the forest met the mountains.
The cold air bit at her skin, but she didn’t care. She needed to think.
“Why me?” she whispered to the wind. “Why am I always the one… ignored, humiliated… rejected?”
A rustle behind her made her freeze.
A soft laugh echoed.
“You’re not as invisible as you think,” said a voice.
Jasmine spun around. A figure stepped from the shadows—a pale, beautiful woman with striking eyes.
“I’m Sarah,” she said, smiling warmly. “Don’t worry… some of us notice the ones everyone ignores.”
Jasmine blinked. “Who… who are you?”
“I’m a vampire,” Sarah said cheerfully. “And trust me, I’ve seen worse heartbreak than this. You’ll survive… maybe even thrive.”
For the first time, Jasmine felt a small spark of hope.
Across the courtyard, Kael’s golden gaze scanned the night sky. Somewhere deep in his mind, he couldn’t stop thinking about her—the girl he had rejected.
But he would never admit it.
