The pain was excruciating and for a minute, I wished that none of these had happened. It was my fault and perhaps, Evelyn would still be on her feet if I didn’t threaten to report her to our father.
“You are a cruel being! And rather than finding means to satisfy your helpless self, you decide to torment Evelyn?” Nathan yelled out of his lungs as he went on with the punches that seemed unending.
My eyes were sore at this point, but I didn’t retaliate. The strength to do so wasn’t within me and I needed no one to tell me that I would only make the situation worse if I tried to fight back.
He was only working together with the mate bond thing. And inasmuch as I felt bad doing all of that to Evelyn, I wasn’t going to give in to any of the mate bond story.
