My brothers, Jay, and I went into the pool house. About a minute later, my dad came in.
He sighed and said, “Sit. I guess I need to lecture you boys.”
“Dad, let me save you from your usual lecture on s*x,” Austin said, standing up.
He went over to my dad, puffed up his chest with a deep breath, and ran a hand through his hair, mimicking our dad.
He let out a slow breath, then in a deep voice said, “Sons…” and shook his head back and forth, “Don’t let 15 minutes of bravery ruin your lives. If you do decide to get brave, just make sure you’ve got a condom on.” Austin turned to my dad and smiled.
Adam and I burst out laughing. That was exactly how our father gave us the s*x talk every time, right down to what my dad does when he delivers that speech.
