He stepped down from his car, his eyes never leaving mine, and walked towards me. "I'm sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you, I just wanted to surprise you with something" he said, his voice filled with happiness.

“Wow you bought many things” I said feeling happy as I saw the cooked chicken he bought.
I carried them and walked inside without waiting for him because I was so hungry.
