Two Alphas, One Human

She is Awake!

Sebastian-

  Who does he think he is? I can’t believe he still doesn’t want Astrid to be his mate. There is no way that I am going to just hide behind him and let him and Star run everything. Astrid, deserves to do all of the same things that Star does. She should be able to plan balls and go to them. She would look beautiful in a ball gown. 

I can’t possibly ask her to do everything from behind the scenes. That is not fair to her in the least bit. Plus, Star is well, Star. She is tacky and over the top. All of our event would look like a disaster. Fake gold and diamonds everywhere. I am sure of it. 

I am so mad that I am shaking. I need to go for a run to cool off but I can’t leave Astrid alone. What if she wakes up in a strange place all alone? I am going to call my mom. I know that she is probably asleep but she will come over right away. 

“Mom, I am sorry to wake you but could you come to the pack house and help watch my mate.” I wait a few seconds for a reply. She is sleeping after all.

“Yes, I will be right there. Is everything okay?”

“Yeah, she is great but I need to go on a run. I will explain everything when you get here.”

Thirty minutes later and both of my parents walk in. “What is going on Son?” I wasn’t expecting my dad to be here but of course mom would wake him up too. 

“I need to talk to the both of you. As I am sure you felt it, I have found mate. She beautiful, kind, and perfect but she is human.”

“Oh honey! Oh, Congratulations! This is so exciting! Where is she?” I knew that my mom would be over the moon for me. She always has my back no matter what happens. 

“She is in my room resting. The doctor said that it may be a few days before she wakes up but she is perfectly healthy. I just didn’t want to take a chance on her waking up without anyone here or being her to protect her from Sedrick.”

“Protect her from Sedrick? Seb, what are you talking about? My dad always gets right to the point. 

“This is going to be a long story. Sedrick found her first. Last week when he went to Alpha Derrick’s pack. She worked in a gas station that he stopped off at. He went back on Friday to see her without telling me that he even found her. He took her out to dinner, slept with her, and then destroyed her heart by telling her she was unattractive and couldn’t lead our pack because she is a human. I smelled her on him when he got back from Augusta. He wouldn’t even tell me anything about her or where she was at. I had to command Eric to tell me and take Michael there to track her down.”

“You can not be serious! He knows how important mates are. The Moon Goddess would never give you a mate that could not handle being a Luna. What is that boy thinking?” I had to jump up and stop dad from charging into Sedrick’s side of the house. 

“That’s not all. Once I found her, I knew that I could never leave her. She is perfect for us but he wants to mate and mark Star. He thinks that Star is the perfect Luna for this pack. He wants Astrid and I to move out of the house and let Astrid part plan but not attend any events. He doesn’t want her to be seen as the Luna. Only Star can be the seen.”

“Oh, Astrid. She has such a unique name. It’s so fitting to be a Luna.” 

“Thanks mom. She fits her name perfectly.”

“ I need to go have a talk with Sedrick. He has lost his mind. He can’t turn his back  on his mate. This is going to weaken him and split the two of you up. If your other dad was here, he would be livid with Sed.”

“I know. When does dad get back? He gets back in a few days but he may come back even sooner knowing this.” My mom does not look very happy. I know she is going to mind link him as soon as she sits down. 

“I need to go for a run to figure this all out. I don’t want to step down as Alpha but I will if I have to. I will protect her and our relationship no matter what.”

“We understand son but it won’t come to that. If you have to step down then, Sedrick is not ready to be Alpha at all. He isn’t thinking straight and your dad and I won’t tolerate this behavior. Star is not as well liked as Sed thinks she is. I will go to talk to him.”

“Thanks, dad. Mom, could you sit here with Astrid while I go for a run?”

“Of course, honey. I will do whatever I need to for her.”

I went back into the room with mom so that I can kiss Astrid and tell her goodbye. She feels so warm and she smells even better now that I have marked her. 

“I will be right back, my love. My mom is here with you until I return.”

Richard(Dad)

I am going to kill Sedrick. He can’t possibly be serious right now! You don’t reject your mate. Although, he hasn’t rejected her obviously. He hasn’t officially said the words yet, anyways. If I can get through to him, he hopefully will go mark her too.

I can’t wait to have grandpa’s and I know William will be just as disappointed in Sed as I am. I don’t want to tell my brother what our child has done. I will leave that up to Molly. 

I left Sebastians room right away and started banging on Sedrick’s door. Each of the their wings is set up like an apartment. Typically, they stay in the same wing together but they can’t do that now. Not with how idiotic Sedrick is being. 

“Who is it?”

“Who do you think it is, you dumbass?” 

“Dad, I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Open this damn door before I kick it down.”

Little turd better open this door right now. I am not in the mood to play his games. He is going to listen to me. 

“Come on in dad. I am sorry that Seb brought you out so late tonight.”

“Of course he did! He is handling this remarkable well for what you are doing. What are you thinking? She is your mate.”

“I know that. She isn’t fit to be Luna. I don’t know how many more times I have to say that to people before they start listening. She is human and unattractive.”

“We both know that it takes more than being pretty to be a respected Luna. Plus, I am sure she is pretty. I haven’t seen her yet but don’t talk about her like that. You respect your mate. I didn’t raise you to be like this. To be so shallow.”

“I am not being shallow. I am being practical. Do you think she could defend anyone if we were attacked by Rogues? No, she couldn’t. She would be a liability to us all. She is a soft target. Star would be able to defend herself.”

“Ha! Star couldn’t defend herself if she wanted too. She doesn’t go to any type of training and the pack doesn’t respect her. She is mean to the omegas. She treats them like they are her private maids.”

“She would never do that! I don’t appreciate you saying untrue things about her.”

“None of what I just said is untrue. Open your eyes. Go out around your pack. You can’t just hang around your friends and expect that is the truth for everyone. It’s not. You can’t be a good Alpha like that.”

“I am a good Alpha. Our numbers have never been better and I have been with Star this entire time. She makes me stronger.”

“You are delusional! It has nothing to do with Star.”

“I am going to mark her and she is going to be my mate wether any of you like it or not.”

“If you do this and your brother steps down, your father and I will take back over. You are clearly not ready to lead this pack alone.”

“You can’t do that! You have already handed the pack over to us.”

“Right, to you and your brother. The both of you.”

I turned and walked away. He clearly isn’t listening and if he is, he needs to think about what I said. I stormed out of there and slammed the door shut as I went. I can’t believe that boy. 

I walked back over to Seb’s to sit with Molly. This girl is beautiful. She looks wise beyond her years and so caring. 

“Hey Mols, how is it going over here?”

“Good, she is sleeping peacefully. She is so lovely looking. She looks like she would be so kind to everyone. I can’t see how Sedrick can resist her.”

“That boy is delusional. He is dead set on this girl being incapable and Star being his mate. I think we need to set some limits here.”

“I agree. I think he should give Astrid three months. He has three months to figure out if he wants Star to be his mate or Astrid.

“That sounds good. Have you told William yet?”

“No, I was hoping that Sedrick would listen to you and we wouldn’t be in this position.”

I heard a little moan come from Astrid. Molly must have heard it to because her eyes snapped right on the girl. I can’t believe it. She is waking up! 

“Seb! Get back now! She is waking up!”

“I am on my way!”
