I Want To Help

This is not what I was hoping would happen when we were this close to being happy, maybe a huge health bill or a war but not the possibilities of losing my sister. The things I picture were just fairytales and Luke always told me you shouldn’t believe in fairytales. I listened to him for long just refused to believe that I deserved happiness. I fear that’s why I push people away so easily, because he made me believe that I will never deserve love. Ezra is different he wants me to find love whether it’s with him or not, he wants me to be happy. They are completely opposite of each other but they both want what they believe is best for me.

“Dre maybe we should fight back now.” I looked up from the cards in my hand. I understand she wants to stay here but she can’t fight physically and mentally I can’t fight. I’m sure our coven is willing to help but I don’t want to drag them into this fight when they have much bigger things going on.

“No, we will run until you’re strong enough to help.” I said

“Why not buy us time with that eternal sleep spell?” she asked as I looked back down at my cards, I still haven’t told the Wilson’s about it. I’ve been on high alert for the pass three weeks, sleeping either here or at Ezra’s place. I can’t trust that Luke won’t show back up at my place and hurt me, I have to leave at 3 in the morning to get to work on time but honestly I feel safe. Ezra gave me my own room and a new phone since I threw mine away.

“That takes to much energy and I would need a second witch to help me with that.” I said I am not emotionally strong enough to do it alone.

“Why?” she asked

“Because the second witch is for insurance, you could have one requirement for the person to wake up but the second witch has to have a different requirement. So if one is done they still have the second one to fulfill, but they have to find the second witch and learn of the second requirement. I would have to find a witch that isn’t in our coven and ask them for help, 90% of time they want something from the first witch.” I said before playing a card. She played a card thing of some way around it, but I already know she’s going to offer that she be the second witch on this project.

“What if I”—

“No because if it comes out that you’re the second witch, whoever’s favor Luke will take us both and use us against each other to find out the requirements. It has to someone we don’t know and won’t ever run into again.” I said before someone cleared their throat behind us. I turned to see a woman with short blonde hair wearing a light blue sundress holding flowers and a balloon. “Who are you?” I asked

“I’m the temporary trainee for your coven, Sharon.” She said walking in to the room, oh yeah she’s supposed to be going to each coven and training for some prophecy. She’s the reason the council has been so busy and that our coven has had no time for anything else. Literally every where she goes people get hurt or die. I put my cards down before standing up from El’s bed; I walked up to the Sharon before turning to El.

“I’ll be right back okay? Don’t look at my cards.” I said before walking Sharon out the room, I close the door behind us before turning back to her. “What are you doing here? How did you even find us?” I asked

“Sorry I heard about your sister and I noticed you haven’t been to any of gatherings recently. I ask the head mistress about you and Elena.” She said holding out the lily flowers. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop on your conversation but I want to help.” She added as I took the flowers from her she smiled softly holding out her hand for me to shake.

“Thank you but you can’t help.” I said shaking her hand.

“Look I know my magic is a little unstable but I’m willing to help. It sounds like a simple spell.” She said

“Yes but do realize we can’t never see each other again after doing that spell right? You can’t even come close to this coven, plus you shouldn’t meddle in peasants’ problems.” I said I don’t want to be mean but honestly I can have someone who is going to be around for a months after we do it. Once again if someone favors Luke finds out then we are screwed!

“I leave for the next coven in month, I’m almost done with my training here and I move on to the next one. The chances of me coming back to this place are slim but you were so nice at Litha and Yule that I wanted to check and see how you were doing.” She said that’s true that she leaves in a month but still I don’t want to involve her. She has a lot on her plate right now and it wouldn’t be fair to dump that on her.

“Let me ask you this; are you really okay with putting someone to sleep possibly for all of eternity? Are you okay with people who like this person possibly coming after for the rest of your life?” I asked

“I’ve done worst to innocent people.” She said right damn it! That was insensitive of me to ask, she killed her whole family because she lost control of her powers.

“I’m sorry…I shouldn’t have brought that up.” I said

 “No you’re fine; I have learned to never live in the past because it will haunt you. I don’t want to live in my past anymore, I want a happy future like you and the hot doctor that’s been watching us since we step out of the room.” She said nodding her head to the side I turned to nice Ezra at the nurse’s station pretending to read something. I bit my lip turning back to her; she’s holding back a smile before turning away him.

“We’re just friends, besides he’s my sisters’ doctor.” I said it’s a little weird between us right now since he is Elena’s doctor and we were childhood friends. He respects that I want to wait until El is done with her treatment. El is a little mad at my decision but I mean what if get into a fight or break up, how will that affect her treatment?

“Well how about this I need help making some new friends and you need help getting rid of someone. Do you… I don’t know… maybe we could help each other and of course when I leave the secret dies with me.” She said I smiled as she cleared her throat.

“Fine, we can be friends.” I said

“And…  I can help you with your problem.” She said I nod my head before turning to the door. “Can I meet your sister? I never really see her at anything.” She said before digging in her purse, she pulled out a small pink teddy bear. “I got her this since I didn’t know much about her.” She said. I chuckled before opening the door, El looked up at me smiling. We walked in to the room before I closed the door. Sharon sat in the chair next to El's bed, she held out the bear and the balloon for El to take.

“Elena this is Sharon, she’s the prophet of the hope for change in our world.” I said taking the stuff from Sharon. “El isn’t able to really handle anything from outside the hospital…yet. She is almost done with her treatment but 3 more weeks and she’ll be able to leave the hospital. We want to make sure she stays healthy during this time.” I said

“Oh I understand sorry for not thinking.” Sharon said I sat on the bed next to El. I place the stuff on the table next to El before grabbing my cards off the foot of her bed.

“So… you’re the hybrid that killed her family?” El asked

“Elena! That is rude,” I said

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to say it like that.” El said yes she did, El believes that Sharon should have been arrested for killing her family. “I just don’t”—

“Elena stop it or I’m cutting this visit short.” I said she shut her mouth glaring at the cards in her hands.

“No it’s fine, yes I am a hybrid of a witch and werewolf but I didn’t do it on purpose. I lost control and it just happened, I regret it so much but it was mostly my parents fault. They didn’t want me to go to a school that was willing to help me control my powers. They didn’t want me to be scared and”— Sharon said

“So you slaughter them?” El asked

“Elena, I understand your view of me, but I swear to you that I won’t anyone who doesn’t deserve it.” Sharon said

“So you’re willing to put someone in an eternal slumber without knowing what they did to deserve it?” El asked Oh my goddess why is she being like this now.

“I know what he did to your sister, and I’m sorry for prying but it’s disgusting and I want people like him to pay.” Sharon said I looked up at her confused, “When you took the flowers from me I got a glimpse into your past.” She said

“Oh…well…fine.” El said a little flustered, I smiled before leaning over to place a kiss on her forehead. She groaned before rubbing the spot I kissed, Sharon smiled softly before turning to the door. I turned to see Nurse Brickner holding El’s chart in her hand.

“Ladies I hate to interrupt but it is time for her test.” Nurse Brickner said I stood up from the bed and grabbed the cards.

“Okay, El I’m going to go have Lunch and go back to work. I’ll see you tomorrow.” I said she nods as Sharon stood up from the chair. “I’ll see you soon.” I said as Sharon and I walked out of the room.

“Why didn’t you say bye to her?” Sharon asked oh she noticed that? A lot of people don’t notice that I never say bye to El. It’s just something I have never done; even when we were children I never said bye or goodbye.

“I just didn’t, I’ll see her soon.” I said as Ezra said walking up to us, he looked over at Sharon before turning to me.

“Ms. Johnson how does your sister seem today?” he asked

“Ezra, this is Sharon, she’s the hybrid who is going to change the way our world is. She also knows about us since you like to stare at me like a stalker.” I said Sharon started laughing as Ezra’s cheeks started turning pink.

“Oh… well are you staying with me tonight or are you coming here?” He asked

“I think tonight I’m going to talk to Wilsons about what happen. So I may be staying there tonight.” I said

“Great I have tomorrow off so I’ll come over and protect you. You know in case that problem decides to comes back.” he said

“I know about her brother and I’m going to help her with getting rid of him.” Sharon said

“Okay what doesn’t she know?” Ezra asked

“Oh I don’t know much about you, just her.” Sharon said I rolled my eyes before grabbing his arm.

“We’ll be right back Sharon.” I said I’m going to lock him in his office real quick for acting like a stalker again. I thought we worked this out of his system, I guess we have to start over.

“No, I need to be getting back to the coven anyways. I’ll see you around.” She said holding back a smile. Oh no, when I see her again I’m going to have to explain properly. I don’t need the rumors in coven about me dating someone when I’m not.

“I’ll see you around.” I said as she turned to leave, I turned to Ezra smacking him on the shoulder.

“Ow what did you do that for?” he asked trying to hide his smirk; I didn’t even come close to hurting him. I dragged him down the hall and into his office; I closed the door behind since I didn’t want anyone who walked by to hear us.

“Why did you do that?” I asked he sat on edge of his desk crossing his arms over his chest. I leaned up against the door,

“I didn’t know who she was I thought she might be here to hurt you guys.” He said damn it this man is so sweet, but he needs to tone it down on the creepiness. I swear the women in those romance movies are crazy nothing about a stalker boyfriend is cute. I mean how could anyone in the real world find that attractive in someone? Stalking, sneaking into houses, showing up at work place. It’s creepy like if you want someone’s attention just talk to them.

I mean come on its not that hard ask them out on a date, or better yet, tell them you like them. Freaking weird and I wish the movies and books would stop trying to make that okay. I let out a soft sigh before walking up to him I wrapped my arms around his neck. He placed a kiss on my forehead before wrapping his arms around my waist. We aren’t technically dating but we do kiss and hold hands and I mean I’m staying at his house most of the time now. But I stay in his guest room and Lysander makes sure that he doesn’t try to come in my temporary room. I will admit that when I stay here with El, Ezra takes care of Ly; he walks him and feeds him sometimes he plays with him.

“Quit being creepy, those movies make no sense to me. Just be honest why you gotta be a stalker and creepy about it? You know that I hate that.” I said he chuckled before squeezing me slightly. I smiled before pulling away to look at him, “She wants to help with the Luke thing, I’m considering it but right now she is my best option.” I said he rubbed my lower back slightly.

“So maybe we won’t have to move…unless you want to move, I could start a place somewhere wherever we go and work there. You can finally open that bakery you have always wanted.” He said I bit my lower lip shaking my head. “I’m going to spoil you one way or the other.” he said placing a kiss on my lips.

“Stop being so freaking sappy, I’m trying to be mad at you.” I said he is never going to

“Why? Because of what I said or did in front of that girl?” he asked I nod my head before flicking him on the forehead. “Stop it little girl or I’ll spank tonight when I come over.” He said oh yes the vague threat of spanking me where I can tell he wants to but he’s afraid of hurting me. So instead of spanking me he has me get up and takes me out to have a late night dinner with him where I have to dress up.

“You won’t spank me, you always say that but you never do.” I said

“I won’t?” he asked I grabbed both of his hands holding them to my lower back, okay that’s the last time I’m challenging him. We both know that he can over power me at any point when I’m not using my magic. When I am using it we’re about the same strength, but right now I know he can easily over power me right now. “How about this we agree no more hitting me and I won’t bend you over my knee right now and spank you until that beautiful chocolate skin of yours turns black and blue.” He said

“No more meddling in my life right now, I have it under control and it’s in progress.” I said

“I will meddle as much as I want because I want you to be happy and safe.” He said

“You’re being sappy again.” I said he chuckled before lowering his head slightly. “I am happy as long as Elena, Lysander and you are happy and alive.” I said

“Now who’s being sappy?” he asked lacing his fingers through mine, I sighed before pulling away from him. “I’ll be over tonight maybe at 10 pm.” He said looking up at me.

“I’m talking to Alice and Daniel tonight because of the Luke thing.” I said he sighs before nodding his head. “Come over at 11, I’ll probably be in the shower but yeah about that time.” I said

“I’ll bring over Lysander, he misses you terribly.” He said as I walked over to the door. I turned and smiled before blowing a kiss at him. He smiled leaning up from his desk, he walked up to me slightly crossing his arms over his chest again.

“I know, he’s my baby and I miss him so much.” I said, shrugging my shoulders “I got to go and have lunch before going to work.”

“Wait you’re supposed to be working?” He asked

“Actually Alice started working for a party planner as a hobby. So the house is empty most of time during the day, I cook breakfast, make lunch for everyone to go and I cook dinner.” I said he nods his head softly as I walked out of his office. I headed down the hall and out of the building feeling the sun hit my skin. I really hope that this all comes to an end and I can go back to living a normal happy life. I think without my inner demons also being my enemies in life, I would enjoy everything a bit more easily. Who knows I may even take a vacation away from everyone once all of this is over with. I don’t mean a camping trip with El but a vacation alone somewhere I can have the best vacation.
