Today everyone is visiting Elena in the hospital as she has been making great progress in her treatment. She is so excited for the Wilsons to be visiting, they wanted to come 2 weeks ago but Alice was sick the first week. The second week we had to make sure she was healthy enough to be in the same room as Elena. Her teachers have allowed her to do her classes online, so when she’s not in treatment she’s studying. I sat in the corner as Madison and Samuel sat on her bed telling her about school, Michael hasn’t left her side since they showed up. Alice and Daniel are sitting in the chair watching the kids entertain El.

I asked Jacob if he wanted to come but he had been a little distance from me since Ezra came over to hang out. Speaking of the Devil he has been ignoring me too, what happen after I feel asleep? I didn’t know if I did something wrong or if something happened I wasn’t aware of. I have tried texting him for a week and I haven’t gotten a response back, I don’t see him when I come to the hospital or anything. I asked Daniel and El about it but they don’t know anything about it, in fact El told me that he acts completely natural when he come in to treatment. Maybe he got a girlfriend and she doesn’t like him having female friends, or maybe he got bored of me.

“I don’t understand what that means.” I heard El said I looked up to see everyone looking out the doorway. I turned to see Nurse Brickner holding up 3 fingers, my guys 3 more minutes until her next treatment.

“Well I was trying to keep it quiet but only 3 people are allowed in here.” Nurse Brickner said

“Why?” El asked

“You’re immunocompromised so this many people in a room with you could be damaging to your health.” Nurse Brickner said

“Well the twins can’t be in here alone so Daniel or I have to be here.” Alice said

“Those are the rules unfortunately for the health and safety of Ms. Johnson.” Nurse Brickner said

“I’ll go I need to get home to start preparing dinner.” I said standing up from the chair, everyone started to protest but I can come and visit her whenever I want. The kids can only come on the weekend to see her, I can go and work beside I was here yesterday.

“What about our game?” El asked every time I come and visit her we play a Uno just so she take a break from everything.

“We played yesterday and besides you know I’ll be back soon. Only 3 people can be here, I know Alice and Daniel can’t leave until the children are done.” I said

“Don’t go Dre we can rotate shifts.” Michael said

“Guys, I can come back.” I said grabbing my purse, “Seriously, it’s not that big of a deal to me. We can play more next time I come, I promise.” I said smiling at them softly; everyone seemed a little disappointed as I walked up to place a kiss on El’s head. She wrapped her arms around me as I leaned down over her bed. “I love you and you better behave.” I said

“I love you too Dre, I’ll see you soon.” She said

“See you soon.” I said before pulling away from her, I waved goodbye to everyone as I walked out the room. I should go home and just cook, clear my head a bit have some alone time away from everyone. I headed down the hall towards the exit when I noticed Ezra walking into his office in a black suit. I sighed before putting my head down, if he doesn’t want to talk to me then I don’t see a reason to stop by and talk to him. I continue walking until I reached the exit when something tugged on my shirt. I turned to see Nurse Brickner holding onto my shirt, released it trying to catch her breath. Did she chase me down here? Why didn’t she just call out for me?

“Can I talk to you for a minute?” She asked

“I need to get back to work, is it about Elena?” I asked

“No, about Dr. Valentine,” She said

“Look I don’t know what his problem is; he has been avoiding me and ignoring me for the past 2 weeks.” I said shaking my head she let out a long sigh, shaking her head before turning her head towards this hall where his office is at.

“He’s been doing the same here; he doesn’t really talk to anyone besides when it comes to work. I was hoping you could tell me what happen.” She said turning back to me

“We hung out and I fell asleep when we were watching a movie. I woke up and he was gone, didn’t reply to any of my texts.” I said shrugging my shoulders “I don’t know what happen after that I asked Elena but she says he seems to be normal.” I added

“Great, I don’t have time for this childish behavior.” She said

“Do you know where his office building is?” I asked she shook her head, I know his assistance would know what’s going on with him. She knows a lot about his life right now, I sighed looking down at my phone.

“I just know the number, in case I can’t get a whole of him through his cell phone.” She said I have his office number too because one day he accidentally called me from that number. He claims that it was because his phone was dead but I don’t what is going on with this man. One minute he won’t stop texting me and the next he’s ignoring me.

“I don’t know, but I need to go. I’ll let you know if anything comes up.” I said she nods before turning away from me. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” I said

“Yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow,” she said before walking away from me, I turned around heading out the door.  I really don’t understand men at all maybe now I know the reason for me being single for so long, I sighed climbing into the car. That’s not why the reason is because I just don’t make time for relationship anymore, and it’s really hard now that I’m living in my employers— I mean on my employers grounds. The drive home was a little lonely I normally call El while I walk to my car because its night time when I leave and I don’t like walking at night. This is the first time since she been in the hospital I’m not getting home after dark, it’s kind of nice.

I stopped by my house to pick up Lysander and change my clothes since I have been sitting in a hospital for an hour. I finally started working on dinner, I also need to start planning the banquet party for Alice’s charity even coming up. She wants a hard copy on Monday. I can put that together easy since it’s a cocktail party type thing; those are my favorite to plan just because I can really play with some different things. I can also do a lot of simple things that are elevated to look fancy. I think the last cocktail party we did I made an elegant peanut butter and jelly type sandwich. Everyone loved it without realizing that it was just a sandwich, I still get asked from Alice for the recipe for her friends.

After cooking dinner and cleaning instead of eating dinner I worked on me menu, for the party. I wasn’t really hungry so I decided to skip it but whatever I’ll be fine, I’ve gone longer without food. I’m currently sitting in the middle of my bed on my laptop typing out the menu while Lysander is lying behind me. It’s currently 3 in the morning I don’t have to work in the morning because the family is going out for a family brunch. So I’m going to spend time with El and maybe just relax for a little bit. I sighed looking at the time, 3:31 am, go to bed Dre it’s late and I don’t plan on sleeping during my break tomorrow.

Powering down my laptop, as I climbed off my bed to put it on my desk, I had a nasty habit for a few years of sleeping next to my laptop. One night I was so tried I accidental knocked it off my bed shattering it, now I have to move it because I don’t like buying a new one. I turned off my light and climbed into my bed as Ly moved over to the other side of my bed. I giggled as he looked at me before turning his back to me. I swear if I didn’t know any better I would have thought he was a werewolf. Trust me I checked, I’ve done spells and tried to make shift but no luck. So it’s safe to say that he’s a pure wolf, he acts like a dog and understands me like a human but I guess because I talk to him like a human.

The sound of the door opening caused me to jump up from my bed, I turned to look at my clock and see its only 7 am. Who is coming into my house 3 hours after I finally got to sleep? I slowly climbed out of the bed, walking over to the stairs. I saw a shadow figure looking at all of my pictures. The only people who can come in are myself, El, Jacob and Ezra. I walked down the stairs quietly trying to see who it is; they didn’t seem to know I was awake. They’re wearing a black hoodie covering their hair, they have a male frame. I’m ready to fight if this is a break in but they don’t seem to be trying to rob me.

“Hello, princess…did you miss me?” They turned around revealing an older Luke, what is he doing here? I slowly back away from him; I looked at the door to see my barrier is down. He smiled pushing his hood down, before sitting on the couch. “I went to your apartment a week ago but the landlord said you don’t live there anymore. But then luckily for me someone sent this photo to the newspaper.” He said digging out a newspaper, he placed it on my coffee table I grabbed the paper never taking my eyes off him. “Go ahead and look, I promise to behave.” He said leaning back into the couch. I looked down at the front page, a picture of me and Ezra in my kitchen he had his arm around my waist. This is the picture that Jacob took when he first met him, but how did the media get it?

“Why are you here?” I asked throwing the paper at him; he chuckled slightly shaking his head.

“I want my princess back, I hate father for kicking you out.” He said I shook my head, al the memories of him when we were children hit me like train. The feelings of being helpless quickly covered every ounce of my body, I slowly pointed to the door looking down at my feet.

“Get out or I’ll be forced to call the police.” I said slowly looking up at him, I can’t be scared I have to protect myself and El from this monster. He will not have that power over me anymore, I will not allow it.

“You wouldn’t call the police on your own family would you?” He asked running his hands through his shoulder length dreadlocks. “I just want to talk it’s been what 10 plus years since I’ve seen you.

“f**k off; I don’t want you anywhere near me or Elena.” I said as my blood started to boil, he just wants to get a rise out of me. The sound of Lysander running down the stairs filled the house; he jumped in front me snarling at Luke. “Get out of my house!” I said he stood up from the couch; he slowly walked as close as Ly would allow him before trying to bit his leg. Luke smirked at Ly before turning to me; Ly just didn’t want him 6ft near me.  All of those long nights of crying to Lysander about my family have paid off.

“Don’t worry princess”-

“Stop calling me princess, my name is Aundreya.” I said cutting him off, he smiled holding out his hand as Lysander started barking t him.

“You’re legally Princess Johnson. Just because you change your name and burn your old documents doesn’t mean you’re not my princess. Mother gave me a beautiful girl to do whatever I want. I’m not done with you!” He said before walking out the door, the door slammed behind him. I gasp as the tears rolled down my face, I slowly fell to the floor as Lysander started to lick my face. I grabbed the scattered papers all over the floor, I found the front page.

‘This mystery is none other then our billionaire bachelor Dr. Ezra Valentine, the woman in his arms is a private chef for the Wilson family. They seem to be close enough for Dr. Valentine to be kissing her.’ I read the caption under the picture. I stood up from the ground and stormed out of my house with the paper still in my hand. I quickly walked down the block to Jacob’s house; I pounded on the door until it opened. A startled Jacob opened the door in nothing but a pair of sweat pants.

“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t kill you right now?” I asked shoving the paper in his face. He removed the paper from his face before looking down at it, his face lost all its color and his jaw dropped.

“Dre… I s-swear I didn’t give anyone the pictures.” He said back up into his house I followed him into the house closing the door behind Lysander. “I swear, I even put them in a private photo on my computer and deleted the ones on my phone!” he said

“So how did they get this photo of me and Ezra?” I asked

“I don’t know I haven’t told anyone I swear.” He said as he started to trembling, his eyes were on the brick of tears. “I would never want hurt you like this, the next day I put everything onto my computer and deleted them.” He said the next day? That night he went to a party to help celebrate Parker’s first match. I grabbed the paper looking at the date, I noticed the date it 2 weeks ago. This was posted the next day after Ezra left my house; I looked up at Jacob as he was now shaking in fear.

“This is why Ezra has been avoiding me, and this is why my brother has found me. You went out and got drunk showed someone the pictures and told them who he is. Then they asked for the photo to post an article about it. Your drunk self ruined my life.” I said he shook his head sitting on his couch.

“I’m so sorry Dre. I didn’t know I tried to hide the papers in the house and the paparazzi showed up I turned them away saying you were on vacation or with Ezra.” He said wiping the tears that have now fallen from his eyes. “Whenever Ezra would show up I would have Alice send you on to the store. I never meant for you to learn about it, I was hoping everyone would think it’s a hoax and forget about it.” He said I sat on the floor shaking my head; I let out a long sigh as Lysander sat in front of me. I wrapped my arms around him as the tears continued to flow down my cheeks. I need to find Ezra and tell him what happened, and then I need to pack up El and I and leave before Luke comes back. We have to start over but I can’t afford to move her just yet, she almost done with her treatment.

“I have to go.” I said standing up from the floor, I turned towards the door and Lysander followed close behind me. I just started walking to my car I opened the door for Lysander to climb in the back; I got in the driver’s side and just started driving to the market. I know they’re closed for another hour I’m turned into the coffee show parking lot. They’re open 24/7, I don’t know when he’ll be in but I know he’ll be here for his coffee. I walked into the coffee shop to see him there grabbing his coffee. He turned towards me as if he was about to walk out the shop, his jaw dropped when he saw me in the doorway.

“Dreya, what are you doing here? Are you okay?” He asked walking up to me; I shook my head as the lady behind the counter walked up to me too.

“I’m so sorry,” I said his eyes widen before he placed the coffee on the table. “I should have made him delete those pictures before he left. I’m so sorry.” I said

“Did you drive here?” He asked ignoring what I just said I nod my head holding out the keys, he grabbed them before wrapping his arm around my waist. We headed out the coffee shop and towards my car. He placed me in the passenger seat before he got into the driver’s seat, he sighed turning to me.

“I’m sorry, I’m a bad friend.” I said shaking my head slightly Lysander whimpers as he laid his head on my shoulder. I turned him as he seems to sending a text to someone, probably his girlfriend. “I don’t… can’t to go home.” I said he looked up at me before leaning over to place a kiss on my cheek. He started my car and just started driving; I leaned back in my seat before closing my eyes listening to the sound of the car moving. I don’t know how we’ve been driving for but when the car stopped I opened my eyes and looked out the window. I see a house on the edge of a cliff looking over the city. The dark gray building with a lot of glass really stood out amongst the trees. He opened the door for me to climb out and as slowly opened the door for Lysander. I got out the car as Lysander took off running to the trees, oh yeah it’s time for him to use the bathroom. Ezra grabbed my arm softly pulling me towards to the house, he lives here? I expected him to have a big house like the Wilsons but I guess he doesn’t. We walked into the house only to see a woman in his house vacuuming the rug in his foyer.

“Wendy, make a cup of hot tea please?” He asked as we walked pass her, she his housekeeper, Wendy. He says she is the sweetie housekeeper he’s ever had; we walked into the living room as his phone started ringing. He sat me on the couch before pulling his phone out of his pocket; he shook his head pressing the reject button. He sat next to me on the couch rubbing my back; Wendy entered the room with a warm cup in her hands. I slowly took the cup from her before taking a sip; I placed the cup on the table as she wrapped a blanket around me. I looked up at Ezra as he whispered something in her ear before she left the room.

“Are you ready to tell me what this is all about?” he asked I nod my head as Lysander walked in onto the room; he laid down at my feet.

“I’m so sorry for getting you in this mess.” I said

“What are you talking about? The paper? Don’t worry about that I’ve been trying to find the bastard who did it.”

“That’s not what I’m talking about, my past is coming back and he’s going to try and hurt you.” I said
