Chapter 17 – The Blood Moon Battle Anna & Richard’s Points of View Anna The moon rose like a blade of silver fire, slicing through the storm clouds that had cloaked the night sky. Anna stood at the center of the training yard, her bare feet rooted in the soaked earth, her arms lifted toward the heavens. The wind howled around her like a mourning wolf, and deep in her chest, her wolf answered. It had begun. The first howl came from the west. Then another. Then dozens more. The Blood Moon Pack had arrived. A pulse of power rippled through Anna’s body. The mark on her wrist—her birthmark—glowed faintly, as if awakened by the magic of the moon. Alira’s voice echoed in her mind: You are the moon’s child. Shine. She opened her eyes. Let them come. --- Richard The western wall lit up with warning flares. Warriors leapt into formation like a well-oiled machine, shields raised, claws out. Richard charged through the chaos, his Alpha aura pushing through fear and fog. “Hold the line!” he shouted. “Let no wolf cross the threshold!” Johnny and Charlie were already engaged with incoming enemies, fighting shoulder to shoulder like the war-brothers they were. The scent of blood mixed with rain. Lightning cracked overhead. Richard shifted mid-stride, black fur exploding across his body, bones stretching, snapping into place. His wolf—massive and midnight-dark—let out a roar that echoed for miles. Then the Blood Moon Pack descended. --- Anna The moment the enemy crossed the inner ward, Anna moved. She ran—no, flew—across the yard, not even realizing she’d conjured wind beneath her feet. Time slowed. She could see everything: the flash of steel, the glint of teeth, the wild, hungry eyes
