Chapter 35 – The Circle Awakens
The next morning dawned gold and silent.
Elara sat upright in her crib, eyes wide, watching the first beams of sunlight fall through the window. She reached toward it—and the light bent to her fingers like silk in the wind.
Anna stood in the doorway, still in her robe, heart aching with love and reverence. “She’s waking up faster. More every day.”
“She’s drawing the others,” Kael said softly beside her. “I can feel it. The old ties… they’re pulling together again.”
Richard stepped in with a tray of food, smiling at the sight of Kael’s hand resting protectively near Elara’s. “Then we prepare.”
Anna’s eyes met his. “For what’s coming?”
“For who’s coming,” Richard corrected. “The second spark.”

Far Beyond the Mountains – That Same Morning
In the storm-swept cliffs of the Ashen Highlands, a young girl stood barefoot on stone.
Her name was Tahlia, and the wind never touched her unless she willed it.
She was eleven and wild and knew things children weren’t meant to know—like how to speak to fire, how to summon thunder, and how to read the dreams of dying trees.
That morning, she woke from a vision soaked in light.
She’d seen a baby with galaxy eyes.
She’d seen a golden-haired boy who bled flame.
And she’d seen herself—joining hands with them in a ring of starlight and wolves, as darkness clawed at the edges of the world.
The dream left her shaking and breathless. But not afraid.
“They’ve awakened,” she whispered to the wind. “Now I come.”
And the wind answered, carrying her voice to the farthest pack lands.
—
Back at the Blue Moon Pack
The sacred den had become a meeting place again.
Candace and Lacy prepared a map of the realm, where Kael marked places he had dreamed of. Elara sat quietly at Anna’s feet, humming softly—an eerie, ancient tune no one had taught her.
“She’s building something,” Charlie said, leaning over the map. “Not just with us. With her magic.”
“It’s a net,” Kael murmured. “A soul-web. Drawing in the ones who match her light.”
Anna nodded, heart pounding. “Then it’s starting.”
Just then, Elara’s rune flared like sunlight on a blade.
Her eyes turned upward—and she whispered a name none of them had spoken aloud:
“Tahlia.”
The room fell still.
Then Kael stood, his voice steady. “She’s found the second.”
—
That Night – Under the Full Moon
Anna wrapped Elara in a silver cloak, cradling her close as they stood on the ceremonial hilltop. Flames burned in a ring, marking the first ritual of the Circle of Light.
Kael stood across from her, hands open, a thin line of flame tracing a symbol in the air.
“She is the center,” Kael said. “And I am her fire.”
“And I,” came a voice from the shadows, “am her wind.”
Tahlia stepped forward, her hair braided with feathers, lightning in her veins.
Elara giggled, arms stretched toward her.
And just like that, the second child joined them.
The Circle had begun.
