Chapter 13
Anna’s Point of View
“They’ve awakened,” I said softly. “They’re calling to me.”
His hand slipped into mine, warm and grounding.
“Then we find them,” Richard promised. “Before he does.”
A rush of energy stirred in my chest—urgent, electric, as though threads of light were pulling at my heart in every direction. I squeezed Richard’s hand, focusing on the sensation. These weren’t just dreams or whispers anymore. They were cries for help. Flares in the night. Lost souls reaching for their Luna.
“They’re scattered,” I murmured, eyes distant. “But connected. Like…like stars in a constellation. If I can follow the pattern…”
Richard glanced toward the door of the war room. “We don’t have time to wait. Gather the team—Beta, Gamma, the trackers. We move tonight.”
Within minutes, Candace and Lacy had joined us, along with Johnny and Charlie. Their eyes shone with fierce loyalty. I didn’t need to speak. They could feel it too—something ancient had shifted.
“We split into three groups,” Richard said. “Anna will guide us.”
“I can do more than that,” I added. “I think… I can see through them. If I focus hard enough, I can find them, speak to them. But I’ll need protection while I trance. Someone to anchor me.”
“I’ll stay with you,” Lacy said, stepping forward. “You’ll have your link to the physical.”
Candace nodded. “We’ll each take one direction. If you can give us visions or glimpses, we’ll follow them.”
As I sat down in the center of the circle we formed, I let the pull take over. The Moon Goddess’s warning echoed in my ears: Not all that is found should be touched. Not all that is awakened is whole.
I breathed deeply, dropping into the strange, shimmering space between realms. Threads of energy swirled around me, golden, violet, and silver. I reached for the nearest light.
A boy. No older than ten. Eyes like mine. Marked.
He was hiding in a forest cave. His lips moved.
“She’s coming,” he whispered. “The Luna is coming.”
