"Aba! Ayos ah?" salubong sa amin ni Lexie pagka-pasok namin sa classroom. I rolled my eyes and just gave Greige a glance before I sat on my seat.
Sinundan ako nina Reine at Lexie. Mukha silang naghihintay ng chika. I heaved a sigh inwardly.
"Walang chika. Mind both of your businesses," agap ko at nilabas ang phone ko sa skirt sabay pasak ng earpods sa tainga.
I was still searching for a good music on Spotify when I heard Lexie's loud voice, a voice from a girl who like gossips. I shook my head.
"Alam mo ba kasi, Genieva?" aniya.
"Hindi," pilosopo kong tugon at sinimulan ng magpa-tugtog pero mahina lamang ang sound nito dahil gusto ring malaman ang sinasabi ng kaibigan.
"Seryoso kasi.." sambit niya at umupo sa tabi ko. Si Reine naman ay sa desk ko na-upo at nakatingin lamang sa labas ng classroom, tila may inaabangan.
"Alam mo bang nagmamadali 'yang si Greige na lumabas kanina? Tinatawag pa nga ni Bella pero lumabas na talaga si Greige, hahabulin ka! Haba ng hair ha?" aniya na ikinatawa ko. She nudged me and rolled her eyes.
"Tingnan mo, nakikinig ka pala sa'king bruha ka. Kunwari ka pang hindi interesado sa sasabihin ko."
Umirap ako. "Huwag ka ngang maingay. Napaka-daldal mo," suway ko sa kanya bago humalukipkip at ginamit ang isang kamay para paikut-ikutin ang ilang hibla ng buhok sa daliri.
"Sus. Kilig ka naman diyan. 'Di magiging kayo no'n kasi may Bella na 'yon—" I shut her up when I gave her a warning look. She sighed and just started to scroll through her phone screen too. Samantalang si Reine ay biglang tumayo at tumikhim.
"Labas muna ako, girls. Magpapa-hangin lang ako sa labas."
"May hangin naman dito bakit lalabas ka pa?" si Lexie at pinaningkitan siya ng tingin. Tumawa si Reine at sinapak ng bahagya ang braso ni Lexie.
"Baliw. Sige na. Balik na lang ako dito mamayang next subject."
Tumango kami.
"Baka ibang hangin malanghap mo ha?" pahabol pa ni Lexie. Nang makaalis na si Reine ay bumaling siya sa akin. "Lalaking hangin ata gusto malanghap no'n eh. She seems spacing out these days. Pansin mo?" I looked up at the ceiling before I nod my head.
"Hmm. She's not like this before. She talks a lot when she's with us and like getting gossips from someone. But these days.." I shrugged my shoulder and my eyes unconsciously wandered behind us and almost fell on my seat when I saw Greige staring at me even though Bella, who's beside him right now, was talking a lot next to him.
I cleared my throat and faced the front again. My cheeks flushed. Why is he staring at me like that? May problema ba siya sa'kin?
Nang nasa canteen na kami ay si Lexie na ang nag-order para sa'min. Si Reine? I don't know where she is right now. Nalanghap na ata buong hangin ng mundo.
I was just busy scrolling through my phone screen when someone took a seat in front of me. I looked over my phone and my brow shot up when I saw Marco. I noticed how his hair changed and he has this choker chain on his neck.
"Why?" I asked him as I looked back on my phone again, not giving him some of my interest.
He shrugged. "Alone?"
I shook my head. "Of course, no. Hindi mo ba nakikita 'yung bag beside you?"
Marco chuckled at my behavior. "You're back at it again, Genieva. Thought we're already friends," aniya at itinungkod ang paregas na siko sa lamesa. I sighed and shook my head in disapproval.
"Who says we're friends?" sagot ko pabalang. I shifted on my seat and leaned my back on the chair, still using thr phone.
"Ah, come on, Gen. You acted like we were a few days ago," giit ni Marco at sumimangot sa akin.
Ngumiwi ako. "Well, that's what you think it is. But para sa'kin, I'm not. We're not mag-kaibigan at all."
He smirked. "Being with a conyo sucks a lot," aniya na bahagyang ikinalaki ng mga mata ko at napaahon mula sa upuan.
"What did you say?" because I kinda insulted with what he told me.
Marco just shrugged at me and also rose from his seat. He patted my shoulder and cheek. "See you later, Gen."
"Damn you, asshole."
He just laughed at me and waved his hand before walking out of the cafeteria. I groaned and angrily sat back on my chair. I crossed my arms against my chest and stared at the spot where he vanished.
"Oh. Red tide?"
My lips formed into thin line as Lexie took her seat in front of me and served our foods. I shut my eyes and heavily sighed as I drank a glass of cold water to calm myself up.
"Nakita ko si Marco ah? Gusto ka na?"
I sarcastically chuckled at her. "You're f-cking funny, Lexie. Keep it up."
She laughed and we just silently prayed before eating our food.
"So, what's the score between you two nga?" pangungulit niya na naman.
"Zero," simpleng sagot ko.
"Ano nga?"
"Just shut up. There's nothing going on between us. Continue eating, damn," sagot ko.
Lexie chuckled and nod her head. "Okay, Ma'am. You're too hot. Kalma."
"Okay, class, I will assigned who's gonna be your partners for this activity," I opened my notebook to start doodling anything my hand will do.
"Sana tayong dalawa magka-partner or si Reine," bulong sa akin ni Lexie at humagikhik. I frowned.
"Ayaw ko sa pabuhat," pranka kong sabi at ipinusod ang buhok ko dahil nakakaramdam na ng init.
I heard her gasped a bit. "Grabe ka. Sinong may sabing pabuhat ako ha? Baka gusto mong pataasin ko grades mong mabababa?" aniya na siyang ikinatawa ko ng mahina dahil baka mapansin ng guro.
"Wow. May problema ba tayo sa grades ko?" tanong ko at sinara ang notebook.
She grinned and covered her mouth, teasing with her looks.
"Joke lang po, Boss. Makinig na tayo, lapit na surnames natin," tumango ako at ipinokus na lamang ang atensiyon sa unahan. But then I turned to Reine and smiled when I remembered her. She looked at me and smiled either.
"Dela Vega," I immediately looked at our teacher on the front when I heard my surname. I shifted my weight on my seat and cleared my throat. "You will be partner with Morall," my brows literally furrowed but then our teacher saw my reaction. I quickly composed myself and cleared my throat.
"Is there a problem, Dela Vega?"
I immediately shook my head. "No, Ma'am."
"Are you sure? I can change your partner if you want?" alok ng teacher namin pero salungat ang itsura nito sa alok niya. Umiling muli ako at ngumiti ng pilit.
"It's really fine for me, Ma'am."
I simply glanced at my back and saw Greige talking with Bella again like he never heard the conversation I had with our teacher on front. I rolled my eyes when Bella giggled. This b-tch.
"Ayos ka lang?" liningon ko si Reine nang tanungin ako nito at tumango.
"Yup."
"Oh, uuwi ka na? Kakausapin mo pa ka-partner mo para sa activity natin diba?" habol sa akin ni Reine ng makitang papalabas na ako ng school. I stopped on my track and faced her.
"Through chat na lang. I need to go somewhere," I boredly answered and tightly gripped on my bag's strap because I just lied at her.
I really didn't want to talk with Greige right now. I don't know but—hm. I just don't really know why.
"Uh, okay. Are you feeling well?" she looks worried. I smiled and nod my head at her.
"I'm fine. Gotta go, bye!" tumango siya at kumaway bago ako tuluyang lumabas na ng school. I felt relieved when I immediately saw our car near the bench.
I took out my phone when I heard it beeped inside my skirt's pocket.
And then there I saw Greige name flashing through the screen. He sent me a messaged.
From: Greige
If you just forgot about our assigned task, then I should remind you to go back here inside the school. Don't ditch me, Genieva. Library. Now.
My brows furrowed withhis message. Who is he to stop me?
To: Greige
We can just talk about it through socmed. I'm tired. Just go home.
I shook my head and took a step towards our car when it beeped but then my phone vibrated again! I groaned and check it.
From: Greige
Should I just fetch you in your house when you arrive there? One more step, Genieva. Don't relay on socmeds.
I cursed underneath my breath. I typed a reply with my hands trembling out of irritation.
To: Greige
F-ck it. The hell I care. Don't stalk me for god's sake! You're creeping the hell out of me!

To: Greige
And don't you dare come to my place!
I shut my phone down after that and slid inside my bag. I then ran inside our car.
He's really a pain in the ass.
