Claudine was outside the dining room as usual. He was waiting for me.
“Are you okay?” He tried to keep up with me as he ran after me. He saw the look of anger on my face. “You did not have breakfast, did you?”
I was silent as I was visibly upset. I had to get the obstacle out of the bed quickly.
“How did it go?” He sighed as he realized I wasn’t going to say anything. Just then, I stopped abruptly on my way. He stopped too as he was shocked. We were in the garden. I hadn’t realized when I had gotten to the garden and Claudine had no option but to go with me as well. He was also shocked at what I was doing.
I could see the maids smile and giggle as they looked at me. I knew I looked even more handsome, even as beautiful as Yang GuiFei but it did not matter at this point. I wanted to just wash it off but no, I could not. I had to look that way for the rest of the day.
“I want him dead as soon as possible. I want to kill him. I want to kill…” Ryan interrupted me as he held my mouth, widening his eyes. He looked around to be sure no one was watching us but I didn’t care.
“What are you saying? Anyone can hear you. Do you want to put yourself in trouble?” He whispered, fear boldly written all over his face. I took his hands off my mouth and headed back to the room.
“I want him dead!” I yelled again as soon as we got to the room.
“Oh come on! That is not the alternative. We should be more focused on getting our mate and not killing our brother. Killing your brother would not solve anything” He tried to explain.
“To hell with my mate!” I hit the vase on the table and then, it fell, crashing to the floor.
“What are you doing?” George hurriedly tried to examine my hand but I was quick to snatch my hand away from him. To hell with my mate! If I ever turn out to have one, then I am going to strangle her for making me go through so much.
If she had come in time, then I would never have thought of taking my brother’s life so soon although I would still have, later in the future. Well, that would have been when Father and Mother did not exist anymore.
With or without a mate, I was going to be the next Alpha and no one would stop me.
“I do not care about any mate. All I want to do is kill Ray!” I yelled. Just then, the door opened slowly. Claudine's eyes widened in shock. He shook his head in disappointment. I knew what he had in mind.
“Rayna, are you okay?”
I questioned with a little bit of fear and remorse on my face as I beheld the little girl. She had a sad facial expression on her face. Had she heard what I had said? Was she going to tell her father, her mother, the Luna, or even the Alpha?
Of course, Mother would be very disappointed if she got to hear it. I was her favorite and I knew she loved me more than anyone else but death would be the last thing she expected.
I looked at the little girl and then at Rayna. ‘So sorry little girl but your life is at stake now. You won’t ruin my plans.
Slowly like she was scared, she walked in and then her gaze landed on my hands.
“You are hurt” Her gentle voice was filled with sadness. I raised my brows as I bent down to her, till we were about the same height.
“I heard..” she paused and then looked me in the eyes. I could see fear and worry in her beautiful ocean-blue eyes but I tried to play cool.
“I heard the vase fall off and I was scared something might have happened to you so I decided to come to check you out”
“Thank you so much. You are such a sweet angel. I am fine thank you” I smiled and pulled her head nearer. I embraced her and she did the same as well. Claudine was not okay. He was scared something would go wrong but I had everything under control.
“Did you. hear anything?” I managed to question as I released her, watching her sternly. I had to study her facial expression to know if she lied. “When you were coming in, did you hear anything on your way in?”
“Not at all. I only heard the vase break”
I sighed in relief and sincerely hoped she would not hear a word. Just then, she released herself from my grip after inspecting my hands and seeing that I was fine. She walked quietly to the door and stopped, her head bent down.
“I know my Father might have offended you but please, for my sake and my mother’s sake, please forgive him”
My heart skipped a beat. I raised my head in shock and then, it met Claudine’s. Did she hear anything? Before I could say a word, she stepped out of the door.
Oh no! I had to get her out of the way as soon as possible.

Seconds rolled into minutes and minutes into hours and hours into days. With each passing day, I was becoming even more worried. I had a lot to worry about. I had to think of a way of getting my brother out of the way and then, his daughter. She was so precious to me but…
I sighed as I stood by the window that early morning. I had to meet Father’s deadline. Killing my brother would make Mother sad, the last thing I wanted for her. Now, I was stuck. I had three more days to get a bride otherwise the throne would be passed to my younger brother.
“My Alpha” Claudine called as he walked into the room. I sighed as I turned to him. Ray had made sure to trouble me as expected and always try to take my place but I wasn’t going easy on him either. “There is a beautiful lady out there, looking for you. She is Luna Ella, the daughter of..”
“Come on, tell her to leave. I am not ready to see anyone. I am not feeling too well” I creased my brows as I held my chest and headed back to the bed. My wolf had been sick since we got up from bed. It had been acting strange, aggressive to be precise.
“You need to see her. Who knows? She could be your mate. I kid you not, she is your type of woman. Very beautiful and….”
“Tell her to leave. I do not want to see anyone” I frowned and lay on my bed.
“Should I get you the royal Physician? You do not seem to be okay. Should I call the Luna instead?” He suggested, trying to look for a solution. I knew he cared about me so much but no, I didn’t want any treatment. I just didn’t understand why my wolf was being sour and aggressive and angry, to say the least.
“I will be fine”
“You have to see her then. I believe she is your mate. Or should I bring her in?” He suggested. I rolled my eyes. I had to allow him to get whatever he wanted otherwise, he would not let me be. Somehow, I wanted to see her.
Just before I could say a word, a young lady walked in. She was just my type of woman. A tall slender lady with long beautiful legs. A smile formed on my face as I beheld her and then she smiled as well. I forcefully got up and proceeded to the table by my side.
“Have a seat” I smiled at her and pointed to a chair that was a few distances away from her. I stood up, holding my head as my temperature seemed to be rising. I had to be strong because I was convinced there was more to her.
Just then, I felt a sharp pain in my heart, like a string, pulled. My mate began to shiver.
“Are you okay?” She questioned fear written all over her face as I fell to the floor. She tried to help me but again, I pushed her to the floor. She scraped her knees as she looked at me in shock. I was trying my best to control my wolf but it was not ready to listen. It became even worse. She shifted in fear. What was going on?
“Stop” I tried to control my wolf but it was not listening. I held my chest and dashed outside the room and the house. Claudine saw me and followed me, wondering where I was going. Then, my gaze landed on her. She was held by one of the guards like he didn’t want her to escape.
Her hair was tattered and so was the dress she was clothed in. The moment her eyes met mine, I felt….. calm.
“Mate” My wolf growled. An Omega?
