The night was calm and quiet. Alexander lay on the bed with one arm tucked under his head, staring up at the ceiling.
A soft scent of jasmine floated into the room as Anna walked in. She was wrapped in a silk robe, her damp hair falling gently over her shoulders. She slipped under the sheets beside him and lay on her side, facing away, saying nothing.
