Nice To Meet You

ALEX'S POV I knew it—it was him. Wait… I think I know where I saw him before. Suddenly, the memory flashed back—the man I scolded for vaping! Oh no! I just closed my eyes when I realized that he was our client. "Nice to meet you, everyone! Let's get inside," he said as he walked ahead and entered his villa. Wow, his villa here in the resort is huge, and he’s living here alone. There was a lot of food on the table. He really prepared for this. The food even looked delicious. "You must be Jess, the creative team manager? I heard so much about you and your team," he said while eating. "Thank you, sir! Actually, my creative team is the best," Sir Jess said while pointing at all of us. I quietly ate my food and didn’t even dare look at him. What if he remembers me? I’m dead. "I know you. You're the girl I met on the ship the other day…" he said, and I immediately got nervous. Everyone looked at me badly. "Ah… maybe you're mistaken, sir? I don’t think that was me…" I replied while taking a bite of food and lowering my head. "You’ve met before?" Kenneth asked in confusion. "Oh no! What are you saying? That wasn’t me. Maybe she just looks like me," I said. "You know, it’s okay. You were right anyway. Smoking really isn’t allowed inside the ship," he said with a grin. I tightly closed my eyes. "Sir, I’m really sorry. I promise it won’t happen again," I said while kneeling in front of him. "What the—No! Stand up, please. I said it’s okay. There’s no need for you to kneel," he said and immediately helped me stand up. I saw everyone looking at me like they wanted to pull my hair. Help! "Okay. When Adrian told me that you were also here, I grabbed the chance to meet all of you. Let me introduce myself. I’m Ford Ravendale, the CEO of Ravendale Corporation," he said while continuing to eat. "I know you’ve heard about my company. Yes, we make jewelry. Not just jewelry, but real gold and diamonds," he added. "Let’s continue later. Anyway, I’m sorry. Enjoy your dinner, guys," he said and even laughed. I find him weird. I saw Ryan’s reaction—he looked like he also thought Ford was weird. I know that expression of Ryan very well. "Is the food good? I just ordered those," he said. "Oh yes, sir. The food here is really delicious. You never get tired of it," Sir Jess replied, and we joined in the laughter. After a while, we finished eating, and Sir Ford immediately took out his laptop. "This is my company. We sell real gold and diamonds. Now I need someone who can make our website more unique. Our webpage already has an AI upgrade, so it just needs improvement and to be more user-friendly, since most of our clients order jewelry through it," he said while scrolling up and down on his laptop. Wow. They must be incredibly rich. His wife must be very lucky. "Wow, the jewel is beautiful. Your wife is so lucky, sir, because you can give her the jewelry that your company makes," Ryan said, and we all automatically looked at him. This guy really doesn’t know when to keep quiet. Sir Ford suddenly stopped and gave a bitter smile. "Actually, I’m single. My girlfriend died in a car accident five years ago," he said, and his eyes looked very sad. We all secretly exchanged glances. "Ah… please forgive Ryan, sir. He just likes interacting with our clients," Luna said with an awkward smile. "It’s fine. I enjoy being single, you know. No headaches," he said and laughed a little. We laughed too, so it wouldn’t feel awkward. "So, back to business," he suddenly said, and we immediately sat properly and focused on what he was saying. "For the designs, I’ll leave it to you. I’ll give you access to the webpage so whenever you have something to present to me, it’ll be easy for you," he said. Wow… while looking at him closely, I realized he’s actually very handsome. He’s so masculine, and his skin is so fair—smoother than mine even. And he smells good even though he’s already sweating. "Gil will handle that, sir. That’s Gil’s expertise," Kenneth said while looking at Gil. Gil, as usual, looked nonchalant. "You have two months to show me your presentation. Most likely we’ll meet again at your office. Okay?" Sir Ford said. What?? Two months?? Can we even do that? Usually, we’re given three months! That’s too much… "Ah sir, isn’t it possible to make it three months instead? Two months is a bit too fast. I’m worried we might not manage it," I said in a concerned tone. "Unfortunately, no. We’ll be releasing a new variety and model of jewelry. It’s a big launch, so I need the webpage finished ASAP," he replied. So we had no choice. After this vacation, it’s literally back to reality for us. "Don’t worry. I have already discussed the compensation with your boss, Adrian. If I like your design, I’ll reward you guys with an all-expenses-paid trip to Switzerland, so get your passports ready," he said very seriously. Our eyes widened. Can you believe that? He’s even more generous than Boss A! Switzerland? One of my dream countries! "Noted, sir. We will do our best. Thank you for trusting our team," Sir Jess said as he shook hands with Sir Ford. Soon, we returned to our own villa. I still couldn’t believe the offer we received. "We’re so lucky that this project came to us. Our bosses are so generous," Luna said while fixing her bed. "Yeah… They’re incredibly rich. Whoever becomes their spouse will be very lucky," I said while scrolling on my phone. "Did you notice Sir Ford’s skin? It’s like porcelain—so smooth and white, almost like a woman’s," she said, and Luna and I automatically looked at each other. "Is Sir Ford gay?" we both said at the same time. Most of the time, Luna and I really think alike. "I don’t think so, because he said earlier he had a girlfriend," Luna said while continuing to organize her things. Well, you really can’t judge a book by its cover. "But wait… earlier Sir Ford, said you scolded him on the ship for smoking? Is he a smoker?" she asked. "Vape. Yes, that’s true. The signage clearly said no smoking, and then he was vaping inside the ship," I replied. "How was I supposed to know he’d end up being our client?" I added, still a little annoyed. "To be fair, he’s kind, bestie. But he seems strict… and he seems like someone who stands strongly for what he believes in," Luna said playfully. "Oh please, you’re just sleepy, bestie! Let’s go to sleep. I’m really sleepy already," I said as I placed my phone on the side table.
