CARL'S POV

692 Words
I was running out of patience with Mr. Ford and patience are things that I lack very well. It is just the only thing that I lack in my life that money can’t afford. Not like I ever wanted to have it. Coming this far in life was because I lacked patience and I never wanted to have it in my life. “Bruno”, I called out to one of my trusted men. “Any track on Ford?” “Yes, he visited a café this morning” I scoffed, the thought of this man still breathing on the earth got my blood boiling. He didn’t deserve to breathe, not especially after what he did to my business. How on earth did he convince me to spare him? I had other important businesses to attend to other than sitting here and thinking about a man that would be dead the second that I lay my eyes on him. “I need him before I return” I said before I stood up to leave. “He should be beyond recognition”. That was the last order I can remember giving before I left. ***** “It has been decided, Carl, you need a bride to be able to get the company in full”, my uncle said. They knew how much I hated marriage and the thought of these people trying to impose marriage on me was enough to make all their heads roll on the floor. If only they had known how much I wanted the white room to be painted in red then they wouldn’t be here urging or rather forcing me to get married. “Look Carl, it's actually not a bad idea. I actually have a list of women who you might like…” Her voice alone was irritating. Who gave her the right to feel like she has an opinion on my life? “And who gave you the right to speak on matters concerning me?” I said, cutting her short. I made it so obvious that I was ready to kill her and I could already see the beads of sweat forming on her forehead. I was not bluffing when I said that I was ready to kill. The tension in the room soared so high after I had finished speaking, and I couldn’t care less. That woman should have known best when to shut her mouth. I sized every living thing inside the room and I knew that it would cost me nothing at all to kill every single one of them, but what was stopping me is still unknown. The man who was sitting at the high table cleared his throat loud enough to get everyone’s attention, which he did. “You should not talk to my wife in that manner again” he said, looking at me without having the gut to maintain steady eye contact. I bluffed at his reaction. What’s the use of wasting words on a man who can’t even stand up to me? Silence is the best answer for fools at this point. “Can we go straight to the point already? "I have other things to tend to”, I said. “You have to get married for the company to be handed over to you. The bride must be present in the next two weeks or…” This was tiring and boring. This man had the audacity to threaten me with my own sweat and investment. I didn’t even need their approval for me to get hold of that company. I could not wait for him to finish his nonsense. My feet had already graced the floor and my butt out of the seat, I made my way towards the door. “Carl!!!!.... "I am not done speaking” his voice held no power over me because he lost that right a long time ago to even address me by my name. “I am done listening, and please be sure to warn your wife to stay clear of my business” I said before finally walking out of the room.
