Happily Never After

Prologue

How can two little pink lines change your life forever? How can something that seems so small and insignificant throw your life into a tailspin of epic proportions?

Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.

Truth be told it's not just one set of pink lines, it's four. There was no way that I was leaving this to chance and hoping that I was wrong. Now there wasn't a doubt in my mind as to what I was seeing.

I was pregnant. Newly single and pregnant.

My boyfriend of four and a half years, Jack, had decided that it was time to call it quits on our relationship. To say that I was blindsided would be understating things just a tad. Never ming beiing knocked for six, cause I was blown into the middle of next month.

I really had no clue what was coming. I thought that we were perfectly happy together and maybe even ready to take the next step and move in together. Apparently I had been living on cloud cuckoo wearing rose-tinted glasses the whole time. Or maybe I was the only one of us in love..

Well, whatever his reasoning was. it was between him and his own conscience now. There's only so much pain a girl can take, and I had already filled my quota and then some.

But now I had to decide if I could be strong enough to reach out and tell him about the baby.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Wishing that my brain woud turn itself off for once and not throw out relatable movie quotes at every opportunity. I picked up my phone from beside me on the bathroom floor.

"There's only one way to find out." Mustering what little courage I had left I typed out the message to Jack.

Me :- I just found out something that you need to know.

I'm pregnant.

I hit send and leant back against the cool bathtub waiting for his reply. Not even thirty seconds later my phone pinged.

ERROR:- MESSAGE UNDELIVERABLE

I took that as a sign from the universe that I was on my own when it came to raising our child.

"Looks like it's just you and me then little one."

Life was about to get a whole lot more interesting from here on out
