"How did it happen?" Thiery asked angrily.
Alkon took a deep breath. He frowned, thinking hard, then shook his head as if he couldn't believe what he was thinking.
"Suicide," Alkon said incredulously. "He stabbed himself with that sword. Straight through the heart."
"Suicide," Thiery muttered. "Why would he be so reckless? Was his depression that severe?"
"Yes, that's what I think, Alpha," Alkon replied seriously. "But he left a letter. It apologized to his mate and his daughter. And... Alpha Harwind."
"Harwind?" Thiery asked, confused. "What does Harwind have to do with Kane's suicide?"
"I think you'll have to ask Alpha Harwind about that, Alpha," Alkon said politely. "Alpha Kane didn't explain that in his letter."
