“What is it?” I asked as I stood in front of the woman. “I would rather speak to you alone,” Jack stated, as he looked towards the woman standing behind me. I looked at him, and then turned to the woman, “Go back to your house. I will come and see you there,” I told her as she simply nodded at me, relieved to be out of Jack’s presence.
“Let’s go to my office,” I said to him curtly. He knew I was pissed off, but said nothing until we arrived at my office and the door was closed. “There is something I should have told you sooner,” he started to say. “Oh?” I responded, a chill running down my spine. “I saw Lucy yesterday, before she was murdered,” he said in a rush.
