Sylvia noticed that Ted had been lethargic for the past few days. She spoke to him one time when they were at the dining table. “Ted, I noticed that you have been sad these past few days. Why?”
Ted paid attention to Sylvia and forced a smile. "Mom, I'm fine."
Sylvia reached and patted Ted's shoulder. “Ted, we only talk once in a while. Tell me about your problem.”
Ted thought of telling Sylvia about his problem. "Mom, my girlfriend has left for London,” he said sadly.
Sylvia patted Ted's shoulder again. "Did you two break up?"
Ted shook his head. "She will study there."
"Then why so sad? She will come back on vacation." Sylvia said.
"She's not coming back, Mommy. She will live there for good."
"Ted, you can visit her if you want to. I will buy you a ticket. Do you want one?” Sy
