Thank goodness, if she knows the truth should be so devastated," Olivia thought to herself. As she was getting her stuff from the car her dad drove in, she stood as he parked his car in the parking lot. "Hey if it isn't the golden goose." Collins said excitedly he knew definitely he was going to get something heavy. Olivia closed her nose at the dreadful stench of alcohol "what you are so rich now you see me as filthy "Collins said. "Dad where are you coming from seriously, you reeking of alcohol" Olivia said "young lady I'm your father you don't get to ask me such questions" Collins shouted. Olivia, not ready for such drama, brought out the stuff from the car and headed towards the door. "Hey those are for me right?" Collins said, walking fast towards her. Immediately he saw the shopping bags "No they are stuff I bought for mum" Olivia said. "why would you get her stuff she won't be able to use, she's lying on the bed like a log of wood she's sick Oli" Collins said, Olivia was starting to get irritated by her dad's unruly behaviour "Dad can't you just stop, aren't you ashamed hovering around me like a fly" Olivia latched out "Smack" "How dare you, you might be married to a wealthy man but I remember your father, you don't get to speak to me in such a manner . He shouted ," Now give me those things. "They started dragging the bags and everything fell to the ground. Seeing everything on the feminine he latched out " you heartless child, you couldn't even get me anything, I raised you, you ungrateful thing" he cursed. Olivia just stood there her heart shattered "where's your bag he must have given you money for me right" he said "my son-in-law gave you money right" he shouted like a greedy thief. Olivia just stared at him, unable to speak. How could she end up with such a man as a father. Ever since she was in middle school her dad has been reckless always gambling and drinking he couldn't even hold the marble industry his father left for him, rather he got drowned in debt causing the industry to shut down, and still they couldn't pay off their debt, the one who saw her through school was her mother as her father saw her as a useless child since she was not a male child. She juggled all kinds of minimal jobs just so she could assist her mom. Loan sharks came everyday to threaten them, her father always fast. Collins rushed upstairs to Sandra's room Olivia chased after him he pushed the door open scanning the room for her bag "Collins what are you searching for" Sandra asked Collins saw the bag on the bed and reached out for it Olivia got to the room and launched at him. Collins poured out the contents of the bag on the floor "Dad stop this Olivia said "Collins can you stop acting like a child" Sandra said Collins pushed Olivia immediately he saw money falling out the bag, he bent to pick them "Collins" mom let him I have it" Olivia said "So you were keeping it from me right" I know George would definitely give you something he said "collins" Olivia has been used as a punching bag" Sandra said "George beats her" Sandra added. "So she's his wife, he owns her, he can do what he wants with her," Collins said. Sandra gasped in disbelief "is that what you have to say" Sandra said Olivia just looked at the man she called dad she never expected him to be so heartless. She felt like she had been stabbed in the heart by his words. "By the way she doesn't look shabby she's looks good these jewelries must be expensive" Collins said with the eyes of a lost. "What" Olivia couldn't say anything Collins walked out of the room Sandra stared at his retreating figure with disgust "He won't be coming back anytime soon with so much money in his possession" Sandra said. Olivia got up to go pack the stuff downstairs Helen was already helping out the bag in her head caught Collins eyes as we came downstairs "Give me that" Collins said "sir" Helen said in reluctance "Are you deaf Give it to me" Collins yelled. Helen looked at Olivia who was approaching from behind "give it to him" Olivia used eye signals helen handed the bag to him and he left happily like a kind that had just been given candy. Olivia shook her head. Helen handed her the bags "Thank you helen" Olivia said and went back to her mom "I'm sorry you had to experience that" Sandra apologized to her daughter "It's fine mom, you don't have to apologize for his recklessness" Olivia said. She brought out the things she had bought for her mum "Olivia these are beautiful you shouldn't have it's not like I can go anywhere yet" Sandra said in an emotional tone "Well you will soon and when you do you will have to dress nice" Olivia said smiling. "Thank you" she patted her arms. They laughed endlessly for a while. Their conversation was cut short by the sound of the alarm on her wrist. "What's that for?" Sandra asked, "I have to go home now," Olivia said, picking up her bag. "He still hasn't given you your phone yet." Sandra asked, "No, he hasn't," Olivia said, frowning. "How do you cope?" she asked. "I cope mum, I cope" Olivia answered she brought the thick envelope from her trouser waistline and had tucked in. Immediately she had her father. The money he took was what was remaining from what she used in shopping for her mum She had intended to give it to her for emergency cases, "Take this" She surrendered the money in her "Keep this in case of emergency and save this for me" Olivia said "Oh thank you, you get to go now" Sandra said.
