Chapter 44: Move Out

Ye Chen eventually reached the Flame Incubator. When he entered the room he happened to find Stan Sleeping in a corner while waiting for Cray to finish recuperating.

His mouth had slightly arched into a smile as he walked towards Stan as he then took a blanket and covered him properly.

He was reminiscing a little about the past as he was looking at Stan.

"This little brat used to play tricks on people at the island by using the ultimate move of those night lurkers. Now he still goes around and keeps on causing me trouble even if he's already a grown-up."

Ye Chen could still vividly remember Stan's figure using his shadow manipulation to scare off some of his clansmen as he closed his eyes.

His gaze then landed on some of the shallow wounds that have been inflicted on Stan. "You've gotten strong. Your old man would probably get mad at me for this. But I have no regrets..."

Ye Chen then noticed the strange glow on Stan's clothes. It seemed to come from the dagger sheath that he gave him back when Stan was still young.

His eyes widened as his mouth began to slowly open.

"No way-"

His hands had quickly made their way towards the dagger, but before he was able to do so, Stan's hand caught his.

"Uncle? What are you doing?"

Stan groggily questioned Ye Chen while he wiped his eyes. After yawning he noticed the serious look on Ye Chen's face.

"Stan"

Ye Chen called out his name after giving out a heavy breath.

"Do you know what you've done?"

Stan was surprised at how Ye Chen was talking to him. He instantly shook his head as he got the feeling that he might have caused some trouble unknowingly.

Stan's hands were getting a bit sweaty with all the nervousness that he felt. He didn't know what Ye Chen was mad about but he knew how scary he gets when he becomes angry.

Ye Chen was much stronger than him by a large margin. He knew it because Ye Chen mentored him and was the one who taught him most of the techniques that he owned.

He then thought of all the things that could've been criticized by Ye Chen which completely woke him up.

"Uncle I didn't do anything other than going to an inn and a restaurant. If you still want the change from the pocket money that you gave me then I'll give it back to you."

"No, you i***t! Look at your weapon!" Ye Chen bellowed as he pointed at Stan's Dagger.

After hearing Ye Chen, Stan finally knew the reason why Ye Chen looked so serious. He then removed the sheath that was covering his dagger.

He breathed a sigh of relief as he then gave out the dagger to Ye Chen. He then puffed out his chest as he proudly presented it saying, "Hehe Uncle I finally awakened my weapon."

Ye Chen disregarded him as he carefully handled the dagger for a closer look. Upon inspection, he felt an extreme sense of bloodthirst which made him let go of the dagger by accident.

Luckily it was caught by Stan with his extremely good reflexes. "Uncle, you can't just drop this dagger! What if someone got hurt?"

Stan made a somewhat concerned look at his uncle, he knew that he wouldn't make a simple mistake of dropping a weapon accidentally yet he still can't help making a joke but seeing Ye Chen's dry reaction he could only pretend that he didn't say anything.

He then proceeded with putting his dagger back onto its sheath. In the middle of doing this Ye Chen was looking at him with his eyes wide.

He couldn't believe that Stan would awaken his weapon at such a young age without any external help. At the same time, he was also surprised by all the bloodthirst that he felt when he wielded that weapon. It reminded him of his spear.

Once he wields his spear he gets a sudden urge to destroy. It was like he was finding happiness in the destruction of things.

It made him worried a lot about Stan as he knew how much that kind of weapon could change a person, but seeing that Stan wasn't even affected by all that bloodthirst he made a huge smile as he realized that he had even greater potential than what he first thought.

He knew that this time he had won big time! He not only got his hands on the Einder Descendant and a huge chunk of land within the Eastern Continent. He even got Stan to awaken his weapon which was a major upgrade in terms of his fighting prowess as there was a definite margin on fighting with an awakened weapon and fighting without it.

 At the thought of this, it made him laugh. His happiness made his laugh almost uncontrollable. He then gave Stan a big tap on his back because this time he had made him proud.

Stan, on the other hand, was surprised by the mix of emotions that Ye Chen had just shown him. He even wondered if he was the same person as the Ye Chen that he knew. Usually, Ye Chen would always keep his calm and would only seldomly change his demeanor.

But seeing his current smile he couldn't help but prefer this type of Ye Chen as he would usually have a tinge of sadness despite his calm look.

While they were chatting a beeping sound suddenly resounded in the room. Both of them displayed no surprised looks as they knew what the sound meant.

It simply meant that this time, Cray would finally be out from the Flame Incubator.

After hearing the beep, Stan immediately operated the controls and checked up on the current status of Cray.

After pushing a series of buttons, the Flame Incubator had finally opened.

Cray who had previously been enjoying the pleasantness of the Flame Incubator suddenly felt all his senses returning. He then opened his eyes and saw that Ye Chen was now standing in front of him together with Stan.

Stan then walked towards him and helped him stand up.

"So, how does it feel?" Stan smiled as he asked Cray.

"It was really pleasant. I’d even like to do it one more time if I can."

"Well, I'm sorry to say that you wouldn't be able to do that unless you want to risk having after-effects." Stan then once again operated the machine and shut it down completely.

"Now that you're finished we better move out of here as I still have a lot of things to attend to.

Seeing Cray finished, Ye Chen immediately instructed everyone to get out as they were still currently in the middle of the war against the Empire.
