Lunanci drives to our destination and when we have been driving for over half an hour I realize she was being serious. We are getting away from the ugly part of this town and heading to the good part. We came here the other day while looking for my brother, but I couldn't pay much attention at the time. The houses around here are bigger, the buildings modern and everything just looks better.
The restaurant Lunanci brings me to is inside a big hotel.
"Nice," I say to Lunanci as we walk inside the restaurant. This is more my thing, more like Fallonmore restaurants. The ugly collective human scent is still present, but it gets so much better once we step out onto the terrace and I see that the restaurant has a beautiful view of a large lake.
The smell of freshness and nature is so good that I have to give myself a moment to breathe fresh air for a moment. Oh, god, I needed this.
When I finally turn around a few seconds later, Lunanci is waiting for me sitting at a table.
"Is this place good enough for you, Mister Royalty Wolf?" she asks in a teasing voice. She’s sitting in front of the lake and the wind is blowing her hair back, she is also wearing her giant coat, but I can still clearly see her shivering from the cold. I sit across from her, hoping I can block the wind from hitting her so hard.
"It is good enough, Witch, thank you very much," I reply with a smile and look at her. She’s still shivering and her nose is turning red, too, "Do you want to go sit inside? You look like you're going to turn into an icicle."
"No, no, here is fine, I prefer the nice view over the comfort," she replies and looks from me to the lake, "I've only been here once, but I loved it.”
"You came here with your ugly boyfriend?"
"Nah, I came with my adoptive parents. They brought me here on my 18th birthday as a farewell dinner, because that was the age I decided to move out of the house. It was really nice, they're really good people," she tells me and I nod, feeling bad again about what I said last night. I can't even imagine how horrible it is to not have a real family, just some random people who took me in but don't share my blood. That would be so weird. My daddy would never give us up... no wolf would give their pups up. That's why humans are the worst, they just don't care about the most important things, "Don't feel bad for me. I'm doing very well even without a family."
Lunanci is 20 years old now, that means she's been living alone for two years. Obviously, she's not doing 'very well', but I've learned that mentioning that kind of thing it's rude. So I just smile, nod and take the glass in front of me to drink water and pretend I share that thought. Lunanci squints her eyes at me but I just laugh because she looks ridiculous like this... wrapped in her giant coat, nose and cheeks red from the cold and her hair a mess from the wind. But still pretty.
Fuck, I can't stop thinking about that since the realization came to me.
She’s just so pretty, especially now with the warm lighting of the terrace.
After we order our dinner, Lunanci starts talking about something else, but for a second I get distracted because I feel sweat running down my back. That's weird. I'm not fully freezing, like Lunanci, but the weather is cold and I shouldn't be sweating at all. I frown and take off my jacket.
"Are you okay?" Lunanci asks when I do that, wrapping herself in the giant coat even more like she's feeling colder just from watching me take that off.
"Yeah, I just got a little warm all of a sudden," I mumble, my legs starting to twitch anxiously. I don't know why, but I suddenly feel uneasy, "Don't worry, I'm fine."
I don't really know if I'm fine or not.
I've been sick before, a little bit and a lot. Like that time Laurie, Alex and I wanted to ‘hunt’ but we actually just ended up eating a squirrel that was already dead, probably for a long time because we got so sick that my mom came over to us to measure our bodies and ‘have our coffins made’.That made the three of us cry as we threw up, but when she started laughing we realized it was one of her bad jokes.
That time I got a horrible fever and... I think I feel like that now. But I'm older and stronger, my wolf will help me not to die, right? I'll be fine, I think.
Once our food arrives and my belly growls with hunger, I realize I must not be as sick as I thought, because sick people don't get as hungry as I am all of a sudden. I feel famished and starved and I attack my rare steak like I've never eaten anything before.
"Hey, come here," I call to the waiter as soon as I finish it, "Bring me another steak, this little piece was insulting. And make it rarer this time, you understand? Rarer."
"O-of course, sir," the waiter replies and almost runs away as if he is terrified.
"Okay, now you're really worrying me," Lunanci says and watches me with narrowed eyes, "Your voice came out deeper, like when Alpha is talking."
I clear my throat because she's right about that, but I don't feel my wolf's presence so I just shrug and try to change the conversation. Lunanci keeps watching me with narrowed eyes. And when my other steak arrives, she keeps looking at me when I start eating.
"You're eating like an animal and that steak is completely red, too. Are you sure you're okay?" She asks and looks up at the sky, "It's a full moon today, could that have anything to do with it?"
"What? Of course not," I roll my eyes and force a laugh. I still feel warm, maybe even more so now that I've eaten, "I'm just hungry, let me live."
"Okay," she says, raising her eyebrows and returning her attention to the boring soup she ordered. It pains me to see her consuming that broth of nothingness.
"Do you want some meat?" I ask, cutting off a piece and offering it to her. Lunanci immediately shakes her head.
"That thing is still crying and mooing," she complains, as if that's a bad thing. The fresher the kill, the more delicious the meat. But I accept and just keep eating.
As soon as I feel full, I lean back in the chair. My heart is pounding, my back is still sweating and for some reason I'm half-hard.
I know I haven't been able to stop thinking about Lunanci and how hot she is, but it's not that deep, I don't know why I'm getting hard right now.
I try to calm my c**k down as we order off the dessert menu.
"I want a chocolate fountain," Lunanci asks and gives me a naughty smile. That's the most expensive thing on the menu, I think she's trying to annoy me or something, but it's literally cheaper than an entrée at Fallonmore, so I just roll my eyes. Also, a chocolate fountain sounds perfect, I just order double the side dishes.
Once it arrives, our table is filled with the big fountain and all the side dishes. There are strawberries, nuts, pretzels, marshmallows, cookies, crackers, etc. Lunanci grabs one of the little forks and stabs a strawberry. She dips it in the chocolate and then pops it into her mouth.
The way her little tongue flicks out to catch the dripping chocolate and then her lips wrap around the strawberry makes my back sweat even more and my dïck fully hardens now.
I'm in trouble.
I reach for my own little fork to grab a marshmallow and dip it into the chocolate, too. It's delicious. But it would be more delicious to taste the chocolate straight from Lunanci's lips.
