Once we agree on a time and details to head to Fallonmore tomorrow, Laurent kicks me out of his room to continue making out with King instead of begging for my forgiveness. Douchebag.

I take a deep breath while I unwillingly head to my room. I really don’t want to deal with this awkward situation yet, but I also know Lunanci so well that I know right now she's wrapped up in bed to avoid me until I apologize to her for... whatever it is I have to apologize for this time. I’m not even sure at this point, but that means I have a little more time to think.

I mentally prepare for a few seconds and walk into the room. Of course, I was completely right. Luna is in bed, turned to the wall throwing ‘apologize to me’ vibes. Despite everything, I can't help but let out a smile. She's cute when she's mad.

I close the door behind me and I carefully get into bed. Of course I can tell Luna isn't asleep at all, she's breathing heavily and scoffing every so often.

However, now that I’m here with her so close, just the two of us, I’m realizing I don’t want her to act like this.

We’ve always been a team and I don’t like the fact that this could mess up our friendship. Maybe we can find a solution together, as usual.

I sigh and turn to her. She’s all covered up so all I can see right now is her neck and her bare shoulder... as usual, my eyes focus on her skin hungrily, except this time instead of forcing myself to look away and stop thinking about it, my heart races because something comes to my mind.

"Luna..." I start, breaking out in a cold sweat, "Has he touched you?"

Lunanci’s heart goes wild in that moment, so loud I can hear it banging in my ears.

"Oh, god. He did," I blurt out because she made the answer very obvious, "I'm so sorry… what did he do to you? Are you a victim? I'm going to believe you. I'm going to turn myself in."

'I would never hurt her!’ my wolf shouts in my head, extremely offended by my supposition.

"I don't know if I should tell you," she replies, swallowing and still in the same position, "You're already acting weird with what little information you have, so I don't think you should know anything else.”

I'm going to lose my mind.

"Lunanci!” I get on my knees on the bed and forcibly flip her over until she's lying on her back and looking up at me, "I have to know. Tell me everything."

"No," she refuses, "You'll act even weirder."

"I won't! Please tell me. Luna," I whine, shaking her a little, "You and I are friends, okay? That's not going to change. I promise I won't try anything with you, I won't even let my wolf take advantage of you anymore. Just please tell me because I can't go through life thinking I'm a virgin if I'm not."

"God," she whines and I can see her cheeks turn red. My head floods with extremely indecent thoughts.

"Sometimes my d**k has felt… strange. If you tell me it's because I've been f*****g you I'm going to go crazy! Tell me!" I exclaim, unable to let it go.

"We’ve had s*x, yes," she admits at last.

"Oh my god!" I jump out of bed and bring my hands to my head, pacing back and forth driving myself crazy, "I'm not a virgin?!"

"Not really, I guess," she mumbles, sitting up in bed, "I mean… mentally you are, but your body isn't, I guess."

"But when? How? In what way?" I demand, but my mind starts creating all kinds of answers for itself so I get hard. This time I don't bother hiding it, because apparently she knows my d**k better than I do, "I want to know everything. Did I do it right? Did I make you come?"

"I won't tell you the details, stop asking," she growls, her face even redder than before, "We're friends, right? Friends don't talk about f*****g each other."

"But we did!" I insist.

"We didn't, it was me and him. It's very different, Alpha is very different from you," she spits, starting to get annoyed, "So I won't tell you anything."

"It was in my rut, wasn't it?" I continue, investigating for myself since she won't tell me, "He rut-f****d you."

"Rio, you're starting to get disrespectful so shut your mouth before I get really mad," she warns, pointing a finger at me so I understand better.

"I have to know these things, what if you're pregnant?" I ask and gasp in horror, "Oh, god. What if you're pregnant? I can't have a kid now, Lunanci. A half-human kid? No. My mother would be so disappointed. Everyone would be. Ugh, I…”

"Stop!" She yells and something hits my chest. She threw her phone at me, "Stop right now or I'm going to leave.“

"Oh, yeah? Where are you going?" I ask with a mocking laugh, "Back to your shitty human city? Go ahead."

I know she would rather die. Literally.

"Okay," she spits and gets out of bed. She's wearing her pajama pants and a small shirt from which her boobs are almost jumping out of. She slips on some sandals and walks to me to push me aside and access the door, "f**k you."

“You have, apparently,” I say while I roll my eyes and I let her get out because I know she’s just throwing a tantrum... or at least I think that until I go out to apologize a couple of minutes later and she’s not here.

Fuck Rio. I can't believe such a stupid little boy is connected to the most perfect, lovely Alpha. He's immature, dumb and rude and I'm not going to let him treat me that way. f**k him.

I walk out of the building not caring that I'm wearing pajamas because, who cares? All I want is to not be around him.

If he's going to take advantage of me not wanting to leave to treat me badly, then I AM going to leave... not back to Vaughton, obviously. I'm just going to get away from him until Alpha makes him feel like s**t for being rude to me.

I'm walking like a crazy person down the street when I realize I don't have my phone on me, I threw it at Rio and didn't pick it up before I took off.

It doesn’t matter, though, I can just admire and enjoy everything around me for entertainment.

I walk around people-watching for what feels like half an hour. I only stop when I get to the same park where Rio took me running on his wolf's back.

That was so cool. Once he apologizes, I will ask him to do it again… if he ever stops acting like a little kid.

I walk until I'm deep into the woods and sit down against a tree to continue cursing Rio in my head.

To be completely honest… I’m a little disappointed. And hurt. I thought that when it came time for Rio to find out about Alpha and I, things would be a lot different.

I thought he was going to get excited and propose that we give it a try. I thought he was going to kiss me and hug me and make me feel like his mate, completely. I thought he would make me feel special, but apparently not. Instead he made me feel like his unfuckable human friend once again.

I should have listened to Alpha and waited until Rio was ready to take that information. Of course he knows him better than I do.

"Hey... are you okay?" someone suddenly asks, making me gasp and turn to him in fear. It's a man. A tall man with brown hair. And he’s very naked. I remember what Rio has told me and force myself to act like it's normal, "You look upset, I just wanted to make sure you’re alright.”

"I-I'm fine," I reply, my mouth dry and hands sweaty, "Just... just hanging out."

"Okayy," he slowly lets out with a laugh, "You’re just hanging out in the woods? In your pajamas? At two in the afternoon?"

Are all wolves this nosy?

"At least I'm not naked," I comment and the guy looks down before letting out a surprised sound, as if he forgot he was naked.

“Sorry. I was running,” he raises a finger at me and walks to another tree where there’s some folded clothes. Once he’s dressed, he walks back and sits down next to me, like we’re friends or something.

"What's your name?" he asks and his nose moves. I freeze when I realize he’s smelling me. f**k, "I'm sorry, are you on inhibitors?"

"Y-yes," I answer immediately. The guy nods as if he just believed that and he moves back. If Rio was here, he’d have a mental breakdown. He would yell at me to not talk to anyone… but this guy just seemed to accept that I'm on inhibitors and he's not screaming: ‘Human!’ So I feel like it’s not that dangerous to have a little conversation, "My name is Lunanci, what’s yours?"

"Aaron," he says and extends his hand to me. I shake it, trying not to make a pained face when he grips my poor hand way harder than necessary, "Are you from Fallonmore or something? I've never seen you before. And it looks like we're around the same age."

"Yep, I’m a Fallonmorenian. I just moved in when the new Alpha situation happened," I mumble and put my hands on my knees to wipe away the nervous sweat.

I can't f*****g believe I'm so casually having a conversation with a werewolf. I mean, a random werewolf, one that just organically came up to me as if I’m just another normal werewolf girl.

It feels very exciting.

Aaron stays here chatting with me for a while and I realize that it's normal for these people to be extremely open because the guy tells me his whole life story. Including the fact that he's in the academy.

"That’s fun... uh, do you happen to know a guy named Rio?" I ask. Aaron frowns as he tries to remember, "Tall, blond, blue-greenish eyes..."

"Isn't he the new Alpha's cousin? A freshman? I think I know who he is. I’ve probably seen him around,” he mutters and my eyes widen with excitement. Holy s**t, "Why?"

"I've been looking for him, he's... he's an old friend," I lie, "Do you happen to know where he lives?"

"No, but I can ask around," he easily replies, "Why don't you give me your number so I can text you when I find out.”

"Okay," I reply and recite my number for him to save. As he does, I see that it's three thirty now, "Uh, it was great meeting you, Aaron, but I have to go.”

I think two hours is enough to scare Rio. Also, I feel a little guilty. I don't think either Alpha or Rio would be happy to know what I've been up to.

Aaron says goodbye, he promises to get me the information about ‘Rio’ and then I leave, walking back to the building.

Weirdly, I feel like I've done something wrong, but I shouldn't. Rio doesn't have to find out about my new friend. I’m not just his prisoner anymore, I can do whatever I want.

"Oh, you're here," Kingsley says as I walk into the apartment, he's sitting on the couch and looks at me with raised eyebrows, "Rio and Laurent are out looking for you. You’re in trouble.”

"I just went for a walk,” I mutter.

And I also talked to someone, but that’s my little secret.

"Well, Rio lost his s**t and Laurent just made it worse by saying you’ve made your grand escape," he says with a laugh before picking up his phone, "I'll tell them you're back."

"Okay," I sigh and walk until I'm on the couch. I dare to sit next to him, "Uh... I guess Laurie's got you up to speed, right? You know about the mate thing?"

"Yep," he replies, looking up from his phone, "You want to talk about it? I know a thing or two about having a mate."

"I just want your input about men... alpha men, I guess. I only have experience with one human guy and he's nothing like Rio, so I'm clueless," I admit, biting my lip. Kingsley is intimidating, but he seems like a nice person and I need a friend to talk to about these things, "Is it true they can only be attracted to omegas?"

Kingsley gives me a deep look full of pity.

"There are some alphas who don't care much about being with betas, but when it comes to having a relationship... alphas love having an omega to show off. It's like a prize," he rolls his eyes slightly, "I've always been very obviously an omega so those guys have never treated me like one of them, but I know the conversations they have. Having an omega is the ultimate goal. Ruts are unsatisfying with a beta, you know? And the procreation stuff is harder, too. Procreation is hard in general unless you have a fated mate, but that’s not as common as the Taffy family makes it look. So, yeah, omegas are the hot commodity.”

I nod. It's not that different from the human experience. Men love to show off the most beautiful woman around. And I guess in this werewolf world omegas equate to that.

And I'm neither a beautiful woman nor an omega, so it makes a lot of sense Rio is not overjoyed about the possibility of having me as a mate.
