The pair got into the car, and Tony was noticeably quick in pulling out and driving off. He looked back through the rear view mirror, and no view ever looked so good as seeing the trail disappear from sight. They drove in silence in the distance to the gas station, and the old man behind the counter was openly pleased to see they both had returned. Amanda even came into the store with her boyfriend, and managed a smile at the storekeeper. She didn’t want to be left alone again, at least not until they had more distance between them and that horrible place.
“Find what you’re looking for?” he asked Tony when the young gentleman stepped into his store.
