4.Zayn

Penelope It was a sunny day. You would expect that when it's summer. I spent most of my afternoon watching the warriors spar. I could only watch but not imitate what they were doing. None of the females understood why it was frowned upon for ladies to train as well. But it was believed that the ladies were supposed to take care of the pack and family while the men trained to be fighters to protect the pack. I found the belief to be absurd. I don't think other packs believed that either. Our pack was called the "Blue Moon " There were about eight other packs in total. They say our pack had the most feared alpha. I wouldn't doubt that theory. I waved at Zayn, who happened to be my best friend. He was a gamma and a great fighter too. He waved back and ran up to me. His naked torse is on display, showing off his freckled tanned rock abs. He's the type of male that rocks freckles. He gave me a bear crushing hug. I didn't expect it. "Hey, don't put your sweat all over me." I scrunched my nose. "You were sweating like you were in a sauna," I added. Even with my complaints, he still held me tight, engulfing me in his earthy, sweaty scent. He was tall and colossal, yet he was still a teddy bear to me. "Zayn, you want me to faint from this bad stench, huh?" .. "cough "goes.." Cough "of.." Cough, cough "me..." Final cough He let go of me after seeing he succeeded in his mission of drenching me in his scent. I will get you for this, Zayn. Just wait. I already had an evil plan in my mind. A sinister smirk slipped, and he noticed it before I could hide it. "What evil thoughts do you have going on in that tiny brain of yours?" he questioned, quirking an eyebrow as he smirked right back. Now he had caught me and he knew me all too well. "Ohh nothing, don't worry about that." Trying to seem neutral, I just needed to plan my revenge well. "Why don't I believe you, pen?" I glared at him and his smirk widened. He enjoyed getting on my nerves. "You never told me why you didn't come last night; I was all alone." I pouted. "Sorry, Penelope. I thought I mentioned to you that I was on patrol." He looked apologetic. I will forgive you because you did mention it, but I won't forgive you yet for drenching me in your sweat. I probably smell like you now." He gave me a guilt-sly smile. He breathed in for a second, "You smell just fine, hmmm like daisies. I think I should start calling you Daisy, don't you think? " He winked, grinning with mischief. Cocky bastard He glanced at the warriors spread out across the field. Most maintained their human form, while others were werewolves. He finally stared back at me. He almost caught me ogling his six-pack. He was very sexy. I couldn't help but admire him. I had wished he would turn out to be my mate because we got along very well. Even though he teased me most of the time, I enjoyed his company. I need to join the others. At least I have spent some time with you. I hope to trouble your ass more when practice is done. He stood on the grass where we sat and jogged back to the others. I kept staring at his retreating form. I watched as his muscles flexed, folding and unfolding with each step he took. Zayn was f*****g hot. No wonder Megan never liked me. It was because of him. And yet I still didn't care. I adored my friendship with him. I kept staring at him as he tackled his opponent to the ground, holding him in choke mode. He held his opponent in that position for a while. Any person who didn't know better would have thought nothing much was going on. But his opponent put up a great struggle trying to free himself. I observed, trying to see the outcome. I could tell his opponent would give out anytime soon. And in no time, he tapped on the floor, signalling his surrender. His fighting skills demonstrated that he earned his position. It was only the Alpha position that was inherited in the pack. The rest of the positions were determined through a test of strength and how well your leadership skills were, to see if the person was fit for the position. So both the beta and gamma earned their fair positions. I kept watching from afar, just admiring their fighting skills. My eyes landed on Jason. I could see he had improved. He used to slack as a fighter. I think he never loved the training. I loved seeing that he was doing something right for a change. Jason resembled his dad a lot. What made him unique was the birthmark he had across his eye. Without paying attention, one would think it's a scar. He had short ebony hair. He enjoyed keeping a 5 o'clock shadow. It suited him well compared to not having one. He had grey eyes just like his dad did, yet he was still tall and lean. His abbs were just beginning to appear more prominent than before. "Go, Jason!" I screamed, waving my hands up in the air. I knew he heard me and he turned his head to look at me for a second, irritated. And in no time, his opponent tackled him, dropping him to the ground. "Yes!" I succeeded in my small evil plan. He let his guard down. He didn't know I was watching. I smirked. That's for what you did in the morning. I could see Jason was pissed. And honestly, I didn't care. He thought he could talk to me like that and get away with it. I mean, seriously, I thought he knew better and I was yet to do worse than this. Jason's opponent won. And I did a happy dance inside. Jason looked at me and gave me an evil glare, then raised his middle finger. I stuck my tongue out in mockery. Even though we had these mini fights, we got along. Sometimes, not most of the time, we spend 80% arguing and 20% getting along. It's a sibling thing, I guess. I was distracted by our sibling banter. I hadn't noticed the big raven wolf that had joined the warriors on the field. The wolf of Alpha Lucian is colossal, dominant, and terrifying.
