The sun looked brighter. The sky was a cloudless blue. Darrell swore he saw stars twinkle at him from the bright sky, as the sun went down. Birds chirped overhead. He felt like he was walking in a fairytale. Like he was a character in a Disney Technicolor spectacular. All he needed was for a horse to gallop into the frame. The sound of a loud muffler had Darrell turning to look over his shoulder. A white Mustang pulled up to the curb. The silver horse on the front end gleamed like a grin under the streetlights. Manny hopped out and joined Darrell at the entrance to the bar. Darrell had agreed to meet Manny for drinks, but that was before he’d spent the prior evening making out with his married cousin in an exam room.
