Chapter: Unforeseen Threat
Tolisk tightened the bandage around the wounded man’s torso, his hands moving on autopilot as his mind remained focused on his surroundings. Lira wiped the sweat from her forehead, glancing nervously at the treeline.
“Think they’ll manage to take it down?” she whispered.
Before Tolisk could answer, a sudden chill crawled down his spine. The air grew heavier, almost suffocating, and a deep, thunderous roar split the sky. The force of it shook the leaves and sent birds scattering into the air.
Tolisk froze. “That... wasn’t from the same direction.”
Lira’s eyes widened. “That’s not the same lion!”
A sudden rustling erupted to their right, and Tolisk turned just in time to see Daven and Faen sprinting toward them, panic etched on their faces.
