I got home earlier than excepted, just to prepare for the so called dinner with my Dad and my would be husband.

Nanny Clarisa, Good evening...

Hey dear Good evening, how was work today?.

Just as always, good..., I said with a smile.

Audrey dear, don't overload yourself with work, take a break. Have you taking a look at yourself in the mirror?, you are too thin, people might think I'm not taking good care of you...

Nanny, Audrey interrupted, look at me, who said you are not taking good care of me ?, besides in this century girls like me doesn't like the idea of gaining weight. We are maintaining are figure. Who's gonna marry me when I get fat, maybe I should marry you, then I can eat to your heart content..., I said jokingly.

Stop joking around and go freshen up, she said.

I headed upstairs to my room to freshen up. I threw my bag on the bed immediately I entered the room, went to the bathroom and took a bathe. l was getting ready for the dinner when I heard a knock on the door.

Knock!, knock!, Audrey dear your dad asked for you in his study..., nanny Clarisa called out.

Sure I will be there in a jiffy, I said.

I put on my clothes and went to the study.

Dad I'm here , I said while knocking on the door.

Come in, he said.

I entered and saw him on his chair, looking through some files .

Daddy Nanny said you called for me, is it time?, I asked shivering.

I don't know how it happened, but I always shiver in his presence. I think it begun after the death of mom, because it wasn't like that before.

No, he said.

I called to tell you we are not going anymore, it's postponed to another day. He's having an important meeting and won't be available, he explained.

Okay, I said and turned to leave.

Dad, I called as I stopped in my tracks, I wanted to tell him about Desmond but I couldn't bring myself to, even with that gloomy look on his face.

Yes, go on, he said.

Oh nothing, I will be going then, I said and left the study hurriedly.

I went to my room and allowed myself fall on the bed to relax, I was exhausted.

I was drifting off to sleep when I remembered Desmond. He told me to call him when I get home, but I forgot.

What is happening to me, why do I always forget anything related to him.

I took my phone and dialed his number but no one answered. I gave up calling with the third try.

He asked me out for dinner right?, let me give him a surprise then.

I got off bed wore a dress I just bought yesterday with Kelly. I took my bag and keys and headed outside.

I reached Desmond's apartment and rang the bell, I even knocked but no one answered.

I decided to go in and wait for if he's not around yet.

You know what, I regretted my decision that day.
