Chapter 4: The Bachelor "A bachelor's life is a fine breakfast, a flat lunch, and a miserable dinner" -Francis Bacon- ***      The smooth sound of the mega yacht sailing across St Tropez shore was the perfect sight on a hot day, known as a playground for the ultra-rich, the area was privileged for those with extra cash on their bank account, but even then not all of them could afford going on a week vacation on one of the largest private mega yacht available for rent, but Enrique Reign did not need to worry about it, because he owned the yacht. The high income real estate agent was one of the top closer Wall Street had ever seen.     Carter Roman was laying on the chaise lounge beside the pool alongside his friend Carlisle Johnson near the open pool which belonged to their friend Enrique Reign, who held the yacht party to celebrate his last week of being a bachelor before tying the knot with his fiancée at the time, Alanna.     The three friends were known as "The Young Alphas" of Wall Street, mainly because all of them had surpassed most of their elder peers when it came down to the money game. None of them were above forty yet their portfolio when combined were worth over three billion dollars, split that by three and you will get the picture.     Carter Roman, Carlisle Johnson, and Enrique Reign. They were the next generations wolves of Wall Street. Of course, every business, they were doing were completely legal. Because they followed Napoleon Hill's principle of building wealth upon truth and justice, that way they would not get them stripped away in a blink of eye. Their lives were mostly a combination of hustling, partying, s*x, repeat.     The term "I rather be tired than broke" described them during the beginning, but after being tired for so long the compensated their youth by having a lot of fun together. The yacht party was only one of them.     Out of the three of them, Enrique was the Casanova who would play around with a woman and move on straight to the next one within three days. Thus when his friends found out he was getting married, they were shocked, they thought it was just a joke, turned out, it was not. Initially, they had planned on celebrating on Enrique's favorite playground in Vegas, but since the possibility of Alanna's group of stalkers female friends finding them there was high, he did not want to risk getting dumped before his wedding day.     Back to the pool, Carter and Carlisle were surrounded by beautiful women who willingly wrapped themselves around the men. They were the "elite escorts" Enrique invited for their entertainment. Carlisle had a beautiful brunette kneeling beside him, her fingers trailed down across his abs, slowly going down to his groin, teasing the tip of his boxer, while he was shutting his eyes close to hold himself back from having any erection, but judging from the buldge on his pants, it was not working as well. Out of the three, he was the "good kid", he was the rational thinker, the one who acted based on calculation and analysis, who spent the vast majority of his life in front of the computer which explained why he needed a glasses to support his vision. He had to take it off and placed it on the round table beside him as the woman leaned in closer and bit his ear. Oh god.     Meanwhile Carter on the other side had a red head sitting on top of him, by red head, it meant she dyed her hair a bright fiery red shade which made her look like Jessica Rabbits. She was grinding her inner thigh across his lower abdomen, while her hands were rubbing his chest area, casually teasing his n****e while another woman was had her palm on his cheek with her other hand down on his neck. slowly licking the back of his ear down to his collarbone. Unlike Carlisle, Carter did not have any s****l reaction to the women, he was turned on, but his hormones seemed to be working against his carnal instinct. He was just not feeling it at that moment. Carter felt the weight of the woman on top of him and it was starting to annoy him more than anything else.     "Get off me!" he groaned. The redhead looked offended, perhaps she was not used to being rejected sexually by men, she huffed before moving her legs left with a displeased look. Rich bastard.      When the woman was out of sight, Enrique came out from the bar lounge with a hot blue eyed blonde bombshell attached on him, her arms wrapped around his  while his free hand was holding a glass of Bahamas mama. A huge grin was plastered on his face. He seemed to be enjoying himself. He approached his friends, his attention was turned at Carlisle who might have feeling himself a bit too much.        "Are you enjoying the trip so far?" Enrique asked with his faked French accent. Carlisle was brought back to his senses, he gently pushed away the woman's hand and sat up straight.     "Not bad" he complimented. Shifting his attention to Carter now, Enrique asked the same question.     Instead of answering, Carter took off his sun glasses, moving his legs, he stood up and walked toward Enrique, he patted his friend's and stretched his body, every little muscle on his body flexed, the sun shone upon his hair, he was glimmering from his sweat. Standing at 6'2", he was perfectly tan from head to toe with the exception of his bum, which was as pale as the day he was born. He possessed a gorgeous chiseled face, which he inherited from the Italian side of his family.  His nose was tall, slightly crooked, but it did not reduce his magnetism at all, he had one of those smoldering look, thick brow, kissable lips.  From neck down, he had a perfectly sculpted body, it was like every details of his muscle was sculpted by the gods themselves.     He took a step forward and jumped into the pool, swimming his way through until  he reached the end of the pool, he went back to the surface to take a  breath, his mouth gaped open to breath in the air, and water splashed  from his hair. He moved his hand to get rid of the water which coated his thick lashes.     The water dripped down his body as he jumped out of the pool, if somebody was to take a photograph of him, he would probably look like a masterpiece. Carter Roman was the definition of the perfect man, he had it all, a handsome face, a perfect body, an abundance of wealth which he had gathered for over ten years working as a stockbroker, investor, and a businessman. Even if he stopped working then, with his current lifestyle, he would be able to live a comfortable life until he retired, but he was simply not that kind of man, he was a true hustler, always hungry for more.      At 35 years old, money was no longer an issue for him, but still, he did not feel quite satisfied yet with his life. There was a huge part which was still missing.     It was true love.     He did not know if he even believed in true love, throughout his life he had fooled around with women who willingly offered themselves to him, some of them were notable figures of the high society, from models, actresses, to elite escorts, he had tasted plenty. At first they were enough to satisfy his lustful desires, yet as he grew older, he was starting to feel tired of the superficial lifestyle. He wanted to find someone, a woman whom he could trust, whom he could spend the rest of his life with. He remembered when he was in his early twenties, the thought of settling down terrified him, he never even tried to find someone, for him, as long as he could have fun and make more money, his life was content. It started in his early thirties, when he started to really mature and his view of the world had slightly shifted, he realized those women could satisfy him physically, but they could never fulfill the craving in his soul.     That night, Carter stood on the deck, the night breeze gently caressed his hair, the salty air of the ocean along with the sound of the crashing waves calmed him down. The ocean definitely looked more alive at night. Carter had always been a beach person, he grew up in Mondello, near Palermo, Sicily, where his father originated from before he married his mother, who was an American. He did not inherit an Italian sounding first name, as his father was less traditional, but it would always be his second home. Back then, he had full access to the beach, but ever since he moved, that access was taken away from him, living in New York had made it difficult for him to view the ocean every day like he used to be, so he had a large thin screen built in to the wall of his apartment and he would set them to an ocean view. Still, they could never beat the real thing.     He had a moment of peace and silent before a sound of footsteps followed in from inside, he turned around to find Carlisle walking toward him, the man had the top three buttons of his white shirt unbuttoned, he looked like he had just been forced to drink. Some kiss and bite marks were visible along his neckline and chest. His round frameless glasses was fogged with a slight crack on it. The way he walked was a bit wobbly and unstable.     "What happened to you?"      "Oh, you know, Enrique forced me to sit down with him, we had a few shots, and you know the rest" he approached his friend and stared at the sky. It was decorated with the jewels of the sky, the stars scattered around, each to their own place. There was a moment of silence between the two, the only sound which was heard was the sound of ocean wind along with the waves.     Carlisle turned to see his friend and he was quick to notice something was wrong Carter. He did not seem like his usual self, even on such a beautiful night, he appeared distracted and dazed.      "You look bothered, what's wrong?" Carter let out a small smirk, could Carlisle possibly understand if he told him? It was a topic the men never touched upon before.     "I don't know man, it's just, I think I need to start settling down, you know, have my own family and all. Look at Enrique, he's fooling around all the time but eventually settles himself down before the rest of us" Carlisle could sympathize with him, after all he too was thirty-five and single as hell. Both of them were eligible bachelors of New York, but Carlisle was not in a hurry to find himself a partner yet, he, after all, was fully committed to his work. Still, he understood that eventually each and every one of them would need to take a step back and focus on a different area of life when one of them is accomplished. He spun his brain trying to find a way to help Carter out somehow, then something hit him.      "You know what, there is going to be a party to seek out for new investors at this company my sister is working at, I heard there would be plenty of beautiful and ambitious women there as well, why don't you come along with me?"     A party?     Carter had been to plenty of parties throughout his life, as he was often invited by his circle of elites to their social gatherings and events, however no matter how many parties he attended, he just never seemed to click with someone beyond physical attraction. Because most women he had encountered only cared for him for his money and he knew it. He had a rather low expectation, but he thought it was still worth the try. Perhaps at least he could find a good company that night to mask his loneliness. He had nothing to lose.     "Sure, count me in"
