Birthday Fun

Khione Blaecwulf, feverishly shook her head at her friends as they stared at her with wide, hopeful eyes. “Are you crazy?” she asked them, causing them to all shake their heads. “You want to crash Red Stone’s party? We’ll get murdered!”  “We’re telling you that we have that figured!” Macy, Khione’s closest friend said as she held up a small, glass flask with bright blue liquid inside it. “If we drink this, no one will be able to smell our scent. It’ll even mask our pack’s scent with their scent.”  “And how do you even know that it works?” Khione asked as she folded her arms across her chest. “I got it from my dad,” Jassper, Khione's over-the-top crazy friend said. “When haven’t his antidotes worked?” Jassper's father was the pack's alchemist. He the fourth generation alchemist from his bloodline and the job required a lot of magical ability and patience. Unlike the rest of the pack, alchemists weren't werewolves themselves, but they were highly respected for all they do for their packs and as a result, were also considered to be part of it.  "You mean you stole it from him," Khione rolled her eyes. "I know that your father is very talented but how do you know that that specific antidote you're holding is actually what you think it's for?   Jassper looked a little confused by Khione's wording so it took a moment to respond. Aside from not being a werewolf, unlike the rest of the pack, Jassper was from France so he wasn't as fluent in English.  "Oh," he finally began after he understood, "he told me himself. It was a special order from Alpha Boreas and since we probably won't have a chance to make it again any time soon, he taught me how to make it." Alchemists were only allowed to make antidotes if requested by the Alpha himself. It was a crime to make an antidote without the knowledge of an alpha and doing so could result in banishment, and in worse case scenarios, the death penalty. "My father? Why did he want it?" Khione asked, a curious frown on her face. "I don't know," Jassper responded, "and I don't care. Can we please go?"  Macy and Jassper both stared at Khione with hope filled eyes but despite it, she couldn't find herself to say 'yes'.  It was Khione's eighteenth birthday and her friends wanted to do something unforgettable with her, and in their immature and young minds, there was nothing more unforgettable than crashing a rival packs party. Actually, if the Red Stone pack had simply been a rival pack, then Khione wouldn't have been as worried. Rival packs did not simply kill members from a different pack unless they wanted to start a war. However, Khione's pack, the Blue Valley pack, were already at war with the Red Stone pack so they would not hesitate to kill Khione and her friends. In fact, killing Khione would be an honour for them since she is the daughter of the Blue Valley's Alpha.  But despite not feeling comfortable about the idea, it was still her birthday and she did want to do something different with her friends. They may have been a crazy bunch together, but they were a very tame and good behaved group. They never broke the rules and made sure that every thing they did was within the limits of the pack law. Although what her friends had suggested was very different to their usual antics and very dangerous, she did want to try something different on her birthday. So the idea did somewhat appeal to her.  "Are you certain it will work?" she asked with a sigh.  "One hundred percent," Jassper said, his eyes lighting up. A grin grew on Macy's face. She was well aware of where Khione was going.  "How long does its effects last?"  "About 12 hours," Jassper said. "So we'll have to leave by 8AM."  Khione thought about it before she sighed and nodded her head, "Fine. But we're leaving by 12AM!"  Her friends nodded so fast that their necks looked like they were about to snap off.  Macy began to squeal as she pulled Khione into a bear hug. Jassper joined in and the three friends began to giggle in excitement.  "Time to get ready then!" Jassper grinned, an excited glint in his eyes sparking up his entire face. He wanted his friends to look the best they ever had and so he had done a little bit of shopping before he showed up at Macy's house. "I bought the clothes!"  The girls looked at each other before they both burst out into fits of giggles.  Khione may have still had that initial fear in her heart, but she was going to stop being uptight for the night. She was ready to have fun and party with her friends.  Besides, what could possibly go wrong with such a strong antidote in their hands?
