“You look real good mom” Natalie complimented her mom. Not that she actually did, but the woman she saw four days was a ghost of herself, gaunt and exhausted. Now, her mom was brighter, and more chatty. Her body seemed to be accepting the new treatment and Natalie hoped it last, that the progress will continue.
Her mom smiled, feeling good herself, at least the new treatment didn’t make her nauseous like the previous one. “Thank you sweetie, You look better too” she said, her eyes sparkling.
Natalie chuckled. “I’ve been taking your advice” the both laughed.
“See, I give good advice” her mum joked.
Just then Dr. Lee walked in, a warm smile on his face, “hello my favorite patient and her lovely daughter!” He exclaimed his eyes shinning with warmth.
