“I don't know,” I told him, because I couldn't think of any enemies. Hell, yes, my family must have had a lot.
“Well…I won't push” he said as he turned to leave and I did the foolish thing, I grabbed his hand, stopping him again, why did I do it…please even I am surprised
His words next were a low, dangerous hum in the quiet room. “It means I’m barely hanging on to my self-control as is. You pushing me isn’t going to help either of us.” His gaze held mine, intense and unblinking, and a hot, foreign thrill shot straight to my core.
