Having the inability to trust another is dangerous.
Fate could feel her hands shaking to the thought of how dangerous people are. All her life, she was sheltered to her family’s care. Not once did people wronged her due to her father’s reputation. If she was not forced to live in another place, she would have never realized the privilege that she had. She blindly trusted people, and unknowingly allowed Mark to perform experiments without her knowing the matter.
“Fate,” A soft voice called. She did not even need to check the source of it, knowing full well that it is Clayton. The man had people checking on her and always made sure that she was safe. Her confidence simply brushed all of those efforts aside.
