I stared at her in disbelief, I know how difficult it was for her to express herself this much.  "Mum, it's okay, I'm fine. Yeah, you weren't the best mum when it came to hugs and cuddles and attention, but I lived through it and I won't blame you. I know it is not your fault." I spoke to her sincerely.  She didn't blink, rather she raised her hand to touch my face. Her touch was very warm. I gave in and relaxed into the contact.  "You will always remind me of your father. You have his eyes, hair, facial expression. I see him in you every day, but you're different, you're kind, gentle, not a jerk, your father was a big jerk."
