The missing numbers

The day I dreaded finally came and I was realized to be battered again. The only way to come back is getting hit again, maybe breaking a bone or two. If not there was nothing that could be done for me.  Before I was discharged, I had the time to jot down a series of numbers that came up every night. And I prepared myself mentally to face them and ask them about the games.  The alarm blared as usual and the trumpet went off as the American flag was being raised. I made it to the stall on time and got out quickly. Levis and Remy spent their night talking to me, though they didn't earn many words other than grunts and finally, I scolded them to sleep.  Ten minutes before the instructor walked in, I was already hanging around like some others waiting for the doom to start.
