It's been two days since my not so peaceful encounter with those assholes. I am getting ready for work when my phone pings.. Noah: Boss wants you at the mansion. Me: You know, unlike you guys, I actually have a life. Noah: Why don't you tell that to the boss? Me: Yeah, I will! Noah: Be there in half an hour. Me: Wth? I just woke up. Noah: You wake up at 10!? Me: Yeah. Problem? Noah: Nah. Though, it's a lil late for a fashion freak like you. Noah: Will an hour be enough to get your lazy ass ready? Me: *flies you the bird* Noah: ;) Rolling my eyes, I opened Lisa's chat and text her. Me: won't be coming today, call me if anything important comes up. And get a reply within next second. Lisa: Sure. I'll inform you! Tucking my phone away, I pull on a black nike t-shirt with light grey nike sweatpants since I've already showered. After towel-drying and combing my hair, I grab my phone and car keys, deciding to get some coffee and muffins on my way from starbucks. •~•~• 45 minutes later I've parked my car and am standing in front of the huge black gates. Taking in the lightest grey facade of the mansion, which happens to be a stark contrast to the black gates, I push myself across the path with lawns on either sides - lawns with neatly trimmed bushes and colourful flowers - making my way to the door. I knock thrice after nodding at the four armed guards standing stoic between the door and the pillars that stand tall, supporting the mansion on them. The door is opened by Lucas, one of the gang members. "Hi, Diva," Lucas smirks, "How are you?" I ignore the smirk I so wanna pull off of his face and question instead, "Do your dumb ass, by any means, know the reason I'm here?" His smirk falls and is replaced by fury in a mere second, making me feel proud at his reaction. "I'll take it as you don't," I say, smirking now. I hear him huff annoyed but couldn't really make out the exact words. I walk past him to Boss's office rather than arguing with this dimwit. On my way there, I see Ben and Ethan lying lazily on the couch in the living room, watching a comedy movie I have no clue about. Ethan's laughter literally is echoing in there. I am walking past the living room when I bump into somone. "You spilled my coffee," I hear Noah's whining. I scowl at him, "Watch where you step next time." "Rude," Noah pouts and I roll my eyes. "Why did boss call me?" I ask, getting to business since I'm not much of a talker. "Come with me," he grins and turns back on his heels. I follow him as he leads me to what I can tell is, the gym? We enter the gym where Boss is sitting on a bench on the left side making small talk with, what I can see from here, is a brown haired boy. Boss's eyes land on me so he nods in my direction, "Diva!" I nod back and then look at Noah, who is standing on my left now. "I'll call the others," He grins and leaves the gym. Once again, I am finding myself to roll my eyes at his behaviour. The guy with darkest brown here turns in my direction and we lock eyes, familiarity instantly dawning upon us. He's the same guy from the streets, the one I spared. Poof. "You!" He exclaims, totally surprised. I just smirk in response, crossing my arms as I take in his appearance. Dark blue t-shirt with faded khaki pants and same white sneakers. "Who did you expect, Emma Stone?" I retort, still smirking. His shock soon transforms into a scowl. He is about to say something but Boss beats him. "This is Nathan Grey," he gestures to the brown haired guy, "and he'll be joining the gang." He doesn't wait for a response and continues, "Diva, I want you to give him a fair fight. He told me he can fight so I just want him to prove it." I nod, recalling as he stood his ground and didn't run away when I was nearly killing his so called friends. I am about to take a step forward when the door opens and in comes all the boys. What is it, an action movie? "It's gonna be fun," One of the boys, Ethan, I guess, says cheerfully. I give them a look before fixng my eyes on Boss, "Why me?" He doesn't give a thought and answers immediately, "You're the best I have." Before I can say anything, Noah speaks up, pouting, "I thought I was the best." I roll my eyes at him, again. "You know, the number of times you roll your eyes, they're gonna stuck like that one day," Noah grins as I flip him the bird. "Fudge. I forgot popcron," Ethan curses. "I'm not sharing mine," Noah complains. "You guys brought popcorn?" Lucas asks. "Yeah," Noah chirps, "I'm finally getting to see Diva's ass beaten up." "Oh," Lucas smirks looking at me, "I'm up for it." I pout as he pops a fist full of popcorn in his mouth, "It's his first day here and you're on his side." "Enough," Boss's voice echoes and immediately, silence fills the room. "You're fighting for 10minutes. Take your positions," Boss says and gestures to Ben, who haven't uttered a single word or shown any expression, to set the stopwatch. I and Nathan both make it in the middle. I adjust my position and clench my fists, going in fight mode. "Your time starts," Ben nods after tapping several times on his phone, "....now." I focus my eyes on Nathan, reading his every move. "You gonna make a move?" I c**k an eyebrow at him. He tilts his head a little, "You go first." I smirk, extending my right fist. He notices and blocks my fist so I jab him in the gut. He smirks as he realizes I used my right as a distraction. I kick him but he dodges it, sucker punching me. I duck but his fist still catches my temple. I groan as the world, for a split second, goes revolving and everything, from my breathing and my heart rate to the ticking of the clock, slows down. I shake my head and focus my attention back on the fight. I lunge at him, elbowing him in the ribs and then kicking him. He groans and hits me back but I am quick to duck. I punch him again but he grabs my left fist so I throw my right, only for him to block it too. Helpless, I kick him where the sun doesn't shine. He leaves my hands and groans, clutching his groin. Giving him sometime, I take a few deep breaths. By the time I'm done, he is standing back. He comes at me but I easily block his fists. I spin-kick him. He ducks in time and pushes me back with full force. The loud thud resonates and dominates over the sound of Ben's times up as we land on the floor, his body above mine. I try to wriggle free from him but his hold on my wrists is tight. I stop to draw in oxygen, realising the closeness of our bodies, which I'm not liking one bit. I am about to head-butt him but he is lucky because he backs off in time. My eyes land on his deep brown ones, now noting the fact he's been staring me the whole time. Our eye contact deepens, and for a second his eyes fall on my lips. I follow suit, gazing at his perfect, heart-shaped lips. No. No, no, no. No way! Get yourself together, woman! Argh. How a fight can end in s****l tension is way beyond me.! Noah budges in before any one of us can lean in, "I guess we should leave them alone." Were you gonna lean in and kiss him? What? No.! I scowl at Nathan, or at my own subconscious, I don't really know, as he smirks and gets up, extending a hand for me. I scoff and stand on my own. "Did I pass?" Nathan asks, turning towards the boss. Boss nods, "You have proved you're brave enough. Noah and Ben here will fill you in and help you complete the process of joining. But keep in mind, you have to earn every member's trust, Nathan." "Call me Nate," he nods as Noah leads him to introduce the boys. Nate!?
