Hope didn't wait for the security team.
She ran through the front doors of Kingsley Estate and into the cold night air.
The gates slowly opened.
Standing beneath the estate lights was Alexander Knight.
His suit was torn.
A deep cut marked his forehead, and his left arm was wrapped in a bloodstained strip of cloth.
Yet despite his injuries...
He smiled.
"I told you I'd find another way."
Hope stopped in front of him.
For a brief moment, neither of them spoke.
Then, without thinking, she threw her arms around him.
Alexander stiffened in surprise before gently returning the embrace.
"I thought..." Hope whispered, her voice shaking.
"I thought I'd lost you."
Alexander smiled softly.
"It'll take more than a collapsing tunnel to stop me."
Marcus approached, lowering his weapon with a relieved grin.
"I'll admit it... I didn't expect to see you again."
Alexander chuckled.
"Neither did Damien."
---
A few minutes later, everyone gathered in Adrian's library.
The estate doctor treated Alexander's injuries while Ethan studied him carefully.
"You escaped through the western maintenance shaft, didn't you?"
Alexander looked surprised.
"You know about it?"
Ethan nodded.
"Your father showed it to Adrian years ago."
Alexander smiled.
"Then Richard saved my life one last time."
Hope noticed the sadness in his voice.
"You miss him."
Alexander stared quietly at the fireplace.
"I was twelve when he disappeared."
"Raven told me he died protecting the organization."
"Years later..."
"I learned they had murdered him."
Silence settled over the room.
Hope gently placed a hand over his.
"I'm sorry."
Alexander nodded in gratitude.
"It's why I turned against them."
---
Marcus cleared his throat.
"We have another problem."
He placed a newspaper on the table.
The headline covered the entire front page.
RAVEN HALL EXPLOSION LINKED TO KINGSLEY FOUNDATION.
Hope frowned.
"Already?"
Marcus nodded.
"The media is blaming us."
"The police have opened an investigation."
Lily sighed.
"Damien is controlling the narrative."
Alexander looked thoughtful.
"Not just the media."
"He has people inside government."
"And law enforcement."
Marcus folded his arms.
"How many?"
Alexander answered honestly.
"I don't know."
"Enough to make this dangerous."
---
Ethan stood and walked toward Adrian's portrait.
"There isn't any more time for secrets."
Hope looked at him.
"You were going to tell us about the fifth founder."
Ethan nodded slowly.
"For decades, Adrian carried this burden alone."
"He hoped no one would ever need to know."
He opened a locked drawer beneath the portrait.
Inside lay an old leather-bound diary.
"The only copy."
Hope carefully accepted it.
The cover bore no title.
Only one symbol.
A silver raven.
She opened the first page.
Written in Adrian's unmistakable handwriting were the words:
«If Hope Kingsley is reading this... then history has begun repeating itself.»
Hope's heart skipped a beat.
"He wrote this for me..."
Ethan smiled sadly.
"Long before you were born."
Hope continued reading.
«There were never four founders of Project Raven.»
«There were five.»
«The fifth was the only one who understood what Raven would become...»
Hope looked up.
"Who was it?"
Ethan slowly answered.
"Adrian never wrote the name."
"He believed writing it down would put every future generation in danger."
Before anyone could react—
The estate's security alarms blared.
Marcus rushed to the monitor.
His face went pale.
Hope stepped beside him.
"What happened?"
Marcus pointed to the screen.
More than twenty black SUVs had surrounded Kingsley Estate.
Men wearing silver raven insignias stepped out, forming a silent line outside the gates.
In the center stood Damien Blackwood.
He looked directly into the security camera.
Then he smiled.
Hope's phone rang.
She answered without hesitation.
"What do you want?"
Damien's calm voice replied,
"I'm done hiding."
He paused.
"It's time for the Kingsley family to choose."
"The diary..."
"...or everyone inside the estate."
